In my opinion, the move of Impact to Wednesday nights is no slam dunk that Spike TV are going to renew their contract, but it certainly presents TNA with yet another opportunity to show that they can draw good ratings no matter when the show airs. This 'could' sway Spike into renewing the deal but I see this as nothing more than a test. Also, from what I hear it has more to do with the NFL on Thursdays than it does Smackdown.
In terms of TNA’s future without Spike, it’s very uncertain at the moment. In a way, this is the worst timing for TNA because it has thrown their premier show of the year into doubt, along with their premier tour of the year (in the UK). I also believe it’s scuppered their traditional BFG Series, which normally takes place around this time of the year as well. However, apparently the UK Tour is still on and TNA’s costs for Bound For Glory shouldn’t be too high as they are working in conjunction with Wrestle-1. But maybe they are having to restructure the card somewhat, lessening the number of talent they send over, which would explain why the card hasn’t been officially finalized yet.
Either way, if I were TNA I would be looking at alternatives right now, if for no other reason than to have leverage when dealing with Spike. It's up to Dixie's business acumen now.

I think the move is likely a good sign for TNA/Spike... Spike doesn't seem to have anything scheduled except Cops reruns, so it's not like it got moved to make way for something major. If they were just looking to burn them off I wouldn't think they'd bother moving it (or would put it on a worse night).
Time will tell I guess
