We all made TNA jokes from time to time. I didn't think we'd actually be this close to their doors closing. Mind you, there is still a chance another network could pick them up as some have suggested.
From Spike TV's point, they could buy Ring of Honor from Sinclair and outfit them with new cameras & lighting.

First WCW... now TNA... I can't wait to listen to Russo's excuses this time.

Supposedly Spike TV and TNA are still in negotiations. Dixie and Spike have both stated that today. We shall see.

Cue The Undertaker's Music. TNA is about to Rest In Peace after a Tombstone Piledriver.

That or TNA pays Spike and becomes an infomerical weekly at 2am.

My speculation about these "negotiations" is that I think Spike/Viacom might actually want to buy TNA and run the shit themselves.
This would fall into line with them being unhappy about Vince Russo working for TNA. If they owned the shit themselves then they call all the shots. They probably know that TNA is fucked without their TV platform so they might just be thinking, "fuck it, let's buy them out and we can call the shots".

If they aren't on "traditional television", why couldn't they just put the show on their website? Cause they're hemorrhaging money, and Spike was pretty much the only significant revenue they have... without that, it's just the Carter's pooring in more good money after bad.

If the rumors about why the Toby Keith/Double J acquisition fell through are true (re: Dixie), I wonder why Bob Carter doesn't just give Dixie some vanity position @ Panda Energy.
He's the CEO/Chairman of Panda's parent company, his son is President there and Janice is the President/CEO of Panda Energy. They have all the stroke in the world to give Dixie some well-paid consultant or "social media ambassador" role.
I mean, what's the difference really between that and whatever she does as "President" of a Panda subsidiary? I get a parent wanting their child to do their own thing and all, but Dixie in TNA just reeks of nepotism.
And at least with Panda they wouldn't be losing millions of dollars. Is TNA just too good of a tax write off for them or something?

Yes, but if they put the show on their website, they would get to keep the advertising revenue instead of SpikeTV getting the ad revenue and paying TNA for their show. I believe ROH did something similar for a while.

I believe ROH did something similar for a while. You grossly overestimate how much money they can make doing that, I doubt they'd be able to cover their costs of making the show, even scaled back significantly, much less contribution anything for sustained operations. They might do it as a stop gap if they think they can get a deal elsewhere, but it would be short term as they really don't have a sustainable business if they aren't on TV.

I believe ROH did something similar for a while. Ever pay attention to commercials during RAW or IMPACT? It's predominantly snacks and fast food. Pro wrestling, regardless of ratings, does not draw high-end advertisers, which is one of the reasons WWE wasn't able to convince any networks to give them the $200m minimum domestic rights deal they wanted. If WWE and TNA as polished TV products airing weekly on cable networks that are each in nearly 100m homes can't draw in advertisers past the Popeye's level, a stripped down, low budget version of TNA available only on their website won't do much better.

TNA doesn't survive without tv. No doubts about it.
