The Dog in WCW towards its dying days. I remember him drinking from the toilet one episode.

Looks like John Cena is running away with it.

-I don't care what people say, Oklahoma was just down right distasteful

Voted Beaver Cleavage because I could never figure out what they were trying to accomplish with that. If anyone picks Akeem, we are going to have words because Akeem OWNED. I also really liked Kerwin White and thought he should've taken that a bit farther. I guess I just really like vaguely racist wrestling gimmicks.

After some thought I would have to say the Red Rooster. This is based on the fact that Terry Taylor was a talented, proven performer and this gimmick killed his career as a performer. Many other bad gimmicks the guy could rehabilitate or reinvent themself: but not Taylor. There is crap and then there is toxic crap!

My five were:
1) Ding Dongs
2) Who
3) Boogeyman
4) The Gobbledy Gooker
5) The Johnsons
As much as I disliked Eugene and the Spirit Squad upon their arrivals in the WWE over time I found them to completely entertaining, far more than they had any business being. This is what makes a great performer, someone who's able to take a steaming pile of crap gimmick and turn around and make something with it.
The Spirit Squad and Eugene are tag title holders and all of them were involved with high profile, sometimes main event matches. On paper these ideas are horrible (Male Cheerleaders? A 'very special' wrestler?) but the performers involved turned it up a notch and made it work.

I remember hearing rumours that they were going to repackage Visera as a new character named 'It'. Unfortunately, it never came into fruition.

Was John Cena's rapper gimmick really all that bad?

Was John Cena's rapper gimmick really all that bad? No, but John Cena's Superman gimmick is very much hated by wrestling fans who aren't children. My bad, I should have written Superman beside Cena's name.

You have to be a pretty big mark to pick Cena over almost any of those other gimmicks.

You have to be a pretty big mark to pick Cena over almost any of those other gimmicks. Those are harsh words. I think that you should reconsider that comment, especially in the light of the fact that Cena is the most prominent wrestler on the list and quite possibly the one who has drawn the most fans away from wrestling.
