Hogan got Donald Sterling'd, no matter how bad it is, a person still has a right to say things behind closed doors and not fear reprisal. If he was caught at a klan rally, or murdered somebody, raped somebody....I would get it, but to lose it all over a supposed private conversation is murky territory. Privacy people.....that not a right anymore? Agree with this, and it's a very relevant part of the conversation that nobody wants to have. It's always a gray area for me when it comes to shit like this, because people rush to express their outrage over social media but fail to consider the breach or privacy which allowed whatever it is to become public. I've seen the arguments about why it's fair game since it goes against his public image and therefore makes it newsworthy, etc etc etc but IMO that is a very dangerous precedent to take when it comes to recording people in private w/o their consent and distributing it publicly using such broad strokes as justification. Not to mention I'm pretty sure we all knew he was a scummy human being without needing to read transcripts confirming it LOL.

Imagine the chaos if Hogan (or an Austin/Rock/Michaels, et al) did something that required not just a scrubbing of the website, but horrific on a near-Benoit level and got a similar removal from history. Half the Network would almost have to be taken down for a time. Fortunately, while awful, this wasn't nearly that bad (and hopefully nothing like that ever will happen again), but wow the carnage if it ever did.

Not to mention I'm pretty sure we all knew he was a scummy human being without needing to read transcripts confirming it LOL. I think it's fairly apparent his privacy was violated. Regardless of even if he didn't consent to the filming (which, given the entire situation there, who knows), but he certainly wouldn't want it publicly displayed. It was, then it became a civil issue though... and at that point things start getting put on the public record, and even if sealed there is the potential they get unsealed, and in an odd way Hogan ended up contributing to his own demise inadvertently. I can't say I feel sorry for him. He's a public figure and sometimes you live by the sword, you die by the sword. He didn't seem the least bit ashamed of his views in the transcript, only aware he can't say those things publicly. Doesn't make violating his privacy right, but can't really muster any sympathy for him either.

Guaranteed whenever this lawsuit is over.....Hogan will be back displayed proudly on TV. I think WWE should stand behind him, but since stocks and money marks...I understand why they can't.
Dog the Bounty Hunter style, lay low and it'll blow over and most people forget because in the end....they didn't give two shits to begin with.

I understand the WWE disassociating from Hogan from here on out. But to erase him from memory like this. That's just very WWE. I can't see the NBA taking down the Larry Bird career stats page from their site if he did something like this.

I'm sure if he lays low for a year, maybe two and does an apology tour or two, WWE will start working him back in gradually. American's love them a redemption story, no matter how insincere.

But that is an actual sport... not "sports entertainment"

The WWE has a zero tolerance policy for racism against black people.

As long as Baywatch and Thunder in Paradise stay in tact, we are all fine.
Take WWE out of the equation, and Hulk Hogan should have known better. He's been around TV cameras for 30+ years. So always act like the cameras are on. After that incident with Nick in jail, you'd think Hulk would be even more cautious

Also when he said these comments in the privacy of a bed room, the world isn't near as PC as it is now and the ramifications 8 years ago wouldn't have been as severe

When did a celebrity say something as bad or worse 8 years ago and nothing much happened to the person? You seriously think Hogan would not have been fired if this was 8 years ago? Maybe I am not wrong in thinking Hogan would get votes.

We live in a world where some old soutern woman lost her food network gig for using similar language 20 YEARS AGO.
Was he right to say what he did? Not in my opinion, but I'm a minority, so my view is skewed. But did he have a right to say it in a supposed private conversation? You goddamn right he does.
Also, I honestly hate this culture of scapegoating people in the public eye, it's fake condemnation, like we're so better, noone has ever not said anything mean spirited or fucked up in the company of their peers. It's an invasion of privacy and to lose a job over something you said in private opens the floodgates for any kind of bullshit dismissal.

I'm not phased nor surprised by this. He's a pathological liar in public and he got caught with something he can't talk his way out of. This was obviously something held over his head until now if this is from an old sex tape, but the damage is done. The supporters vs angry fans split is happening. I just hope it doesn't get out of control over the net and all the fires get put out. Whatever happens to Hogan, I couldn't care any less. I stopped taking him seriously a long time ago because of who he is, a pathological liar.
