I was thinking that will happen at some point.
What if the person holding the briefcase wins the title WITHOUT cashing in. He or she could have the title AND the briefcase (to win it back).

Or if you get a title shot as MITB holder, just waffle the champ with the briefcase for the DQ loss, then cash in.
When Rollins was in that awesome triple threat at the 2015 Rumble, I was thinking he should have just sat on the outside and let Brock and Cena kill each other while trying to grab a quick pin every so often, then cash-in on the winner if he can't steal one. (Glad that didn't actually happen because the match was a classic, but would have been a fun bit of booking)

Baron Corbin gets a number one contenders match and wins it.....he loses to the champion and after the match he uses his case to beat down the winning champion and then he cashes in to win the title.

Has someone also waited til the very last day to cash in ? That could also happen.

Has someone also waited til the very last day to cash in ? That could also happen. Imagine this scenario for Baron Corbin. Say he's "injured" and still hasn't cashed in. And 2018's Mr MITB cashes in on the night he wins the briefcase contract. Then SURPRISE Baron Corbin cashes in on the guy who cashed in!

I remember they teased something like that with Edge originally. He won the Gold Rush tournament to get a title shot and he still had the briefcase. I like that idea of the champion having a guarantee with him and claiming to be untouchable. It would work really well for a heel.
