I've been watching wrestling for about ten years now and I can't believe I've never come across this story until recently of the WWE's drunken plane journey at the end of their european tour. Have they tried to forget about it and pretend it never happened ? (wouldn't shock me considering the events) And as far as I know I've never heard John or Wai discuss it at length either.

I believe it was Jimmy Korderas talked about it in his book and said it wasn't as bad as everyone made it out to be.
He talked about the real "Plane Ride from Hell" being a trip to Eastern Asia (Korea or Japan maybe) and he talked about the worst turbulence anybody on that flight had every experience.
The one that really gets overblown to me is the wrestling and they went up against the door of the airplane and people tell the story as if there was a chance the door was going to pop open at 25,000 feet or whatever. lol. Anybody who knows anything about planes know there is 0% chance of that happening.

It really wasn't that impactful in the big picture. In terms of plane stories in pro wrestling Ric Flair's crash back in the 70's is more important. This was just a bunch of guys getting drunk and some got fired after it.

And it was pretty much the standard in the '80s anyway.
