What can I say. I watched it out of curiosity and got immeediately hooked up. It has all the feel of a MMA presentation. Any thoughts?

Saez oversold everything...and it was so entertaining. HoHo is awful. Maluta really impressed me, that one flip over the ropes not withstanding. And to the surprize of nobody, Ibushi is awesome.

I was surprised that under the flag of WWE, the presentation and approach to this entire thing has been completely different but importantly more refreshing than what is typically seen on Raw. The 'seriousness' with which they are taking this entire tournament from the weigh-ins, to the referee's talking briefly to the competitors prior to the match and the handshake of sportsmanship, has been enjoyable. It's so removed from what I'm used to seeing, I forgot it was "WWE programming". I agree about Saez but he's out so yeah. I would have put Daivari the 2nd over Hoho Lun. Great first episode so far. Any idea when it airs? Is it airing weekly on Wednesdays after NXT? I looked online for when its scheduled to air but all I can find briefly are dates they are filming the shows. My pick is Kota Ibushi to win it all. Here's the bracket to add to this thread, with my clever editing to keep it updated as per episode 1 [so far]..

Yeah it's after NXT every week. I quite enjoyed it as it was different to the usual WWE stuff.
I get the feeling Vince won't even know what this tournament is.

I've only seen the bracketoligy show so far. I liked the sports show presentation as a concept but felt that the execution came across as one of those made -for-tv sports, like Slamball. I hope Bryan gets better. He came across as bit phony, in my opinion.

Maybe "a bit phony" might translate to an awesome wrestler who cannot compete anymore and is trying to adapt to a new job. Just my opinion.

I felt Bryan did wonders for his first rodeo as a straightforward commentator. Things like the necessity for constant chatter and handling cues and whatnot are stuff that's gonna get more organic over time, so I am not fearing it too much. Mauro also continues to be 'the' voice within the shows, whilst also having the manliest tones this side of a 1890s dockyard.
The little briefer clips in the special did wonders, and were very economical in establishing personalities and motivations. Swann's, Gallagher's and Kendrick's ones coming to mind as standouts immediately. Was very impressed with Ibushi and Alexander, but that's pretty much a foregone statement.

I wonder if any later round results will be/have been changed based on earlier round performances.

I like the MMA feel and the show was good overall. I really didn't like HoHo, just no emotion at all and Daivari was the star in that match. Alexander & Ibushi both looked incredible. As for Bryan, he was a little tough at time but nothing horrible. I'm sure he'll get better as the shows progress and working with Mauro can only be a good thing for Bryan.

I liked it too. Different presentation and it's good to see some European guys I'm familiar with get the WWE shine. Tournament presentation is also very easy to follow. Hopefully WWE make 3-4 stars out of this who they can push full-time on one of the main rosters.

As long aas they keep the Street Fighter 2/Mortal Kombat presentation I'm all for it.

Really enjoyed the debut episode and everything about it felt fresh, modern and not tired as hell like most WWE television.
- Was really impressed by Gran Metllik, Saez not so much. His look was off.
- Hoho Lun has some potential but his offence was pretty weak, Daivari was generic
- Loved seeing Cedric Alexander, ROH misused him for years and I think he should be a great fit for WWE/NXT. The French guy needs a lot of work
- Ibushi and Maluta was good but again Maluta needs a lot of work. Ibushi just looked so polished compared to everyone else on the show

Metalik and Ibushi have apparently both been signed to contracts.
