Overall, this show was all over the place. It started strong and never really got back to that level.
Quite a rubbish show that gave us sub standard matches and 1 production balls up after another.
The only good things on it was Brock attacking and breaking HHH's arm. Daniel Bryan winning Beat The Clock to face CM Punk and finally the match that the world wants to see, John Cena vs Big Johnny.
2/5.

Post your feedback for Review-A-Raw below. <FEEDBACK> IT SUCKED .. </FEEDBACK> But as a first time feedbacker today, wanted to quickly say that you and John do a helluva job along with the rest of the staff there. Review a Raw has become more exciting for me than actually watching RAW the past few months, and your Reviews (along with Wai and Impact) have helped make this road warriors travels that much more enjoyable! 10/10 for you guys, and 3/10 for RAW (+2 for Bryan victory and +1 Rosa's assets in those shorts)!!

Feedback from Kenny Soto:
Raw was a great, fun show tonight. I know that last nights result left a lot of fans with a bad taste, but Brock looked like a beast tonight and it should be fun to see where it goes. I'm pretty sure that Punk vs Bryan is WWE's way of saying "I'm sorry" to the smarks for last night. The final segment was awesome. Just as the fans were about to shit all over Tensai, Laurinaitis announced himself as Cena's opponent and he actually made me want to see over the limit. The only downside of Raw tonight was poor Khali. The guy needs to hang it up before it's too late.
Overall good show tonight, 8/10

Feedback from Matthew:
I can sense a lot of people shitting on this show from a great height & whilst I see that side of things I still feel that this weeks edition just about scrapes a thumb up.
I like the fact they've already announced 2 matches for the next pay per view with Punk Vs Daniel Bryan fulfilling every wrestling fans wet dream and John Laurinaitis vs Cena providing a logical match post Brock Vs Cena. Laurinaitis frustrated by the fact not even Lesnar could get the job done and has gone completely bat shit crazy with an american asian stereotype by his side..... needless to say this will provide a lot in the way unintentional humour & memorable segments (for better or worse) in the coming weeks. I also enjoyed the opening segment & the matches that made up 'beat the clock' where for the most part solid enough beasides the God awful Kane/Khali match. 5/10 overall for show quality but I think it's done enough to make it a meaningful Raw & Rosa is a hotty (hense the thumbs up)

I know it's not the most popular opinion, but I don't think it was some outrageous injustice that Brock lost. The KU-MOOORE-UH arm break wasn't as ruthless as when Triple H broke JR's arm, but that may just be because Jim Ross sold it better.
Punk vs Bryan has potential to be amazing, even if WWE tries to muddle the feud with a bunch of nonsense like Punk swapping out Bryan's vegan cupcake with one including a dairy frosting. It's too bad so many smarks claimed they swore off WWE forever after Extreme Rules and apparently won't be able to enjoy this feud.
The unintentional comedy duo of Sakamoto and Tensai continues to be so bad it's good. The double dragons martial arts routine and poses are pure camp at it's best. However, Japanophiled chopsocky muscle backing the evil white businessman doesn't really seem like an appropriate follow-up to someone "real" like Lesnar. I guess Vince is dead-set on trying to make this goofball character work one way or another. As someone who really enjoyed Mr. Bloom's singles and tag work in NJPW, I think it's unfortunate his last real chance in the WWE is handicapped by this dated, cartoon gimmick. I bet he's thinking Uncle Kracker theme songs and Under Armour shirts aren't so bad in hindsight.
In regards to Cena saying he'd be taking a "break", I guess the suits at WWE and NBC-Universal voted against giving the guy some much deserved time off. Hopefully esteemed referee Justin King and some production folks don't end up fired like the Bellas.

Before I get to my review, I would like to say this is my first post. I have been listening to the podcast for about a month and really love the shows, especially Review a Wai because I love revisiting old shows.
As for tonight, I really liked the show. The opening promo was odd because they were trying to sell it like Lesnar won. However, at least it got him heat. A potential SummerSlam match between Lesnar and HHH could be compelling. I liked the use of Beat the Clock because it was a logical step in determining a new number one contender for Punk. I am extremely glad they aren't forcing a Punk/Jericho III after seeing Punk tap at Mania and then get pinned at Extreme Rules. However, while Punk and Bryan will undoubtedly put on a great match, I doubt it will sell the PPV well. They don't seem like the kind of main event that would reach the casual fan. Johnny Ace attacking Cena was great and unexpected. There is no way they will put on a great match but with clever booking, I could see it being entertaining at least. Solid good, not great, B show tonight.

Michael Balderas:
Was at Extreme Rules last night, and by far the best event of 2012 thus far! I tuned into the second hour (watched the first hour after) and was surprised to see a Beat the Clock challenge. What I took from it was that the Raw/Smackdown branding means absolutely nothing. Also, Lawler against Bryan? You knew Bryan was going to take it as soon as King's music hit.
I could care less about the tag titles changing hands.
Brock/HHH intrigues me (scheduled for SummerSlam I presume), but I was looking forward to Lesnar/Cm Punk at SummerSlam.
Brodus is being pushed extremely hard, but I hate that Dolph and Jack are the casualties of it.
Overall, 7/10

Not a great Raw, but far from a bad one too. Super excited to see Punk vs. Bryan at Over The Limit, I'm interested in where they're going with Brock, and the Laurinaitis swerve on Cena was great.
If Money in the Bank cash didn't exist, Beat the Clock would be the worst gimmick in WWE right now. The gimmick has a lot of glaring problems that should be obvious but WWE does it once or twice a year.
on a side note on the week that Review a Wai reviews Johnny Ace vs Undertaker at Capital Combat he has a match on PPV.

That Triple H-Brock segment was bullshit. The WWE is trying to change the topic from Brock losing all his steam to Brock breaking the Game’s arm and is a bad ass. I’m convinced Vince books crap like Brock losing to Cena because he doesn't want things to be predictable. The trade off for booking to surprise instead of booking to tell a logical story is that now they have to try to redirect people’s attention to get them following the narrative you want them to. The WWE wants Brock to be seen as a monster so they’ll try to make it seem like all that matter is he beat up Cena and broke Triple H’s arm. But to a smart fan it’s hard to buy him as anything special when he loses his first match back by pinfall. Why is there any interest in Brock vs. Cena again or against Triple H?
I always enjoy the beat the clock challenge gimmick the matches seem a little more fresh than normal Raw matches. Only part of it that doesn’t make sense is that you can have someone be the number one contender coming off loses like Bryan. Still Bryan-Punk in a PPV match should be great.
Nice to have the new tag champs be such an established two-some, fuck would it be too much to ask to at least pretend there is some sort of rankings to get to be a number one contender for the tag or other minor belts?
I couldn't really get into this too much since I was so annoyed by the Brock booking and the tag title treatment. 2/10 points at least booking Bryan-Punk next.

Whats with all the arm breaking going on? Having the same limb injury in 2 main angles seems a little overkill to me - couldnt Lesnar have just broken Triple Hs nose or something? I'm a little bit concerned that Lesnar is going to have to job to Triple H at some point in this feud as well but the worked suspension at least gets him off screen for a bit. I still cant believe Cena beat him clean at the ppv though.
I've also never liked the beat the clock gimmick - but at least the end result is an exciting prospect. It would be nice if WWE let punk and bryan have simply a series of excellent matches - best of 5 or 7 or something like that. But the matches on tonights RAW suffered for being part of the beat the clock set up.
Really an odd raw - big angles but never grabbed me at all. Disappointing after the excellent extreme rules.

Welp. WWE goes from one of the more enjoyable pay per views in recent memory to one of the worst two hours of WWE television I've ever seen. Obviously I'm in the majority of those who felt a Lesnar win was necessary and I think this is making Brock lose his momentum from here on out. The opening segment didn't do anything for me except being glad to see Brock hurt Hunter. That and the announcement of Daniel Bryan vs CM Punk were the only two things I enjoyed about RAW tonight. THAT'S IT!
Is it just me or does Great Khali walk like a muscular midget standing on stilts? Why him and Kane were allowed to go out there have a match like that on a show that isn't Smackdown is beyond me. Basically all of the matches were complete throwaways and I cannot believe that after everything Cena has gone through we're still stuck with comedy bits and smiling goofy John Cena.
Awful, awful show.

A mediocre RAW at most. I didnt like the opening segment with Brock and HHH although I guess it gets Brock off TV..or does it? Beat the clock kept me interested most the night. The Y2J finish with Show was a little bit of head sratcher, seemed the ref was scrambled to cover his f up. Lawler and Cole were clearly confused throwing to a commerical......Anyways getting to what matters, Daniel Bryan vs Punk at OTL. Should be an interesting build...but I though D Bry was a Smackdown superstar?

Worst wrestling show in years. Nothing says Big monster bad ass like attacking a guy from behind and then running away when Superstars jobbers better known as the wwe midcard show up to save the day. The only thing that could make this HHH Lesnar program worth watching is if Lesnar runs through him in 18 seconds, but after watching Extreme Rules this Sunday and his opponent being Hunter, there's probably no chance in hell of that happening. After watching this show the only thing that stood out to me was that the WWE product is currently in the worst state i could ever remember it being in, and after this show it was painfully clear the talent depth in the wwe needs to improve. Cena is by far the worst thing on this show i just wish he could go home and not come back for a long time. I wouldn't mind this feud with Johnny ace if there was any chance super Cena would loose but it doesn't seem like that would ever happen, just makes me believe this is just going to spin off to Tensai vs Cena and nothing puts the assess in the seats like the top star of the company vs the Japanese guy formerly known as Prince Albert. The only thing to look forward to in the future is Daniel Bryan vs CM Punk at, As the Executive VP of talent relations and the GM of RAW and Smackdown calls it " The Over Limit PPV". This show sucked it seems like RAW gets worse and worse every week if it wasn't for Daniel Bryan or this podcast I would no longer watch this product 1/10
Cheers, and have a great night
