After the WWE apparently 'botching' the Lesnar debut, theres a lot of talk about the WWE wasting loads of storylines, Invasion, Goldberg, Nexus, Lesnar etc.
Surely the WWE must have done something right to get to this point?
So what are the unmitigated successful storylines the WWE have had?

Batista's babyface turn and VS HHH build up was an entire success, and the entire right way for a veteran to put over a new up and comer. WWE showed patience and kept the two from getting physical before the title contract signing (which saw Batista finally and decisively turning babyface), Triple H as well showed fear, a thing he rarely did in his 02-06 heel run, and it was a subtle and slow turn for Batista.
That storyline was a key drawing point for New Year's Revolution 2005 where the draw was HHH and Batista finally getting physical in the Chamber world title match, and the Royal Rumble following Batista's quest to win it, being a major drawing point. HHH lost at Mania, he then lost at Backlash in the rematch, which were both okay matches, but his loss at Vengeance 2005 in the fantastic and compelling Hell in a Cell was one of those special matches where HHH's status, even though he lost, was enhanced by just how awesome the match was. It brought back memories of Cactus Jack putting over HHH in their HIAC match. Even though they lost, they came out looking strong, and their opponent who won, looked like a mega star.
That'd be probably the biggest one I can think of in the 21st century at any rate.

The smartest, best-executed storyline they've ever done was Canada vs USA with the Hart Foundation IMO. The fact that they managed to get Bret over as a monster face here while being a monster heel in the States was absolutely masterful.

My favs, Savage vs. Steamboat and Rude vs Jake. Best storylines ever in my book. The 2000's have been a nightmare for storylines. If they had to survive only on booking arenas like the old days, they would be dead.

HHH vs Booker T/his 'kind' don't belong with the championship
With such a serious racial element to the storyline, HHH held true to his beliefs - regardless of the outside pressure of the storyline being racist, you have booked yourself into a corner and people being tired of him on top. He stuck to his guns and stopped the Booker T WWE push that had picked up momentum despite the writers sticking him with Goldust (who had been electrocuted and had a stuttering gimmick).
Your kind can't win the title? HHH, pinned Booker right in the middle of the ring clean. Storyline complete, HHH proves that he is right.
