With Lana & Rusev! But yeah, serious question I ask. It's 2014, does "Breaking Kayfabe" still matter or does it hinge on the story or character?

I don't think it matters, though WWE's stance about it has always been really weird.
For instance, they will air B.A.Star campaign videos on RAW showing heels hugging little kids and release tons of documentaries that break kayfabe, but at the same time had Nexus guys wear those dumb armbands out in public, had Triple H wear a sling when part of TMT and got upset when one of the WEE-LC announcers posted a photo of himself ringside before the event with Cena and the Wyatts chilling in the background.
They essentially feel they can indiscriminately break kayfabe whenever it's convenient to them, but lose their minds if it is done without their approval. Such a dumb stance to take.
-----edit----
I do think kayfabe matters to little kids, but finding out what the deal is as they get older is just part of growing up, sort of like realizing Santa isn't real. No biggie.

would be better if there was an AMerican flag in the background.
I got a two year old who sometimes watches wrestling with me. When he is old enough to fully understand, I'm going to tell him right from the start that it's fake.

Bit different as they're now the figureheads of the company but Steph and Hunter regularly 'break kayfabe' by being lovely people off camera, especially Steph's admirable work for Connor's Cure, her interview's in his tribute video was very babyface.
Just today, WWE posted up photo's of Hunter and Steph showing the 2 year old kid who can name all the wrestling themes around WWE headquarters. I guess an explanation is that these two are heels that don't hate the fans per se, they just don't agree with their opinions.

I like how the title of this thread has an extra "E" in "Kayfabe".

Famous athlete appearing with people more famous than Swagger has been with? Could be good angle. Getting these American pie southerners to convert. I see no smile on Rusef's face. Lana only has a smirk.

Is this any different than Lana posing with the girls from Pitch Perfect? Kayfabe or kayfaben is an outdated concept that should remain in the carny days of milking marks out of their money, nobody cares if Lena Headey takes pictures out of character. Just holds this genre of entertainment back by acting like the fans are not in on the gag.

Right now Lana is the hottest diva in the WWE in a lot of ways.

I'd be more worried about the drug testing policy than kayfabe if I was in the same room as Willie Nelson and Woody Harrelson.
