Shawn Michaels hands down. Ric Flair is a close second. HBK's work and legacy speaks for itself and his work this past year at Wrestlemania is another prime example.

I love how spread out the vote is (besides Bret and Shawn getting a bunch of votes each)
This proves that this is a question that can never be actually answered, but its subjective based on our opinions.
Shawn Michaels deserves to be on here since he not only looked great for so many years, but also made every other wrestler look great in his matches.
Bret Hart because he changed the game, he really popularized that technical style we now see used.
Kurt Angle is a great pure wrestler, best ever? thats possible.

You probably should have put Bruno Sammartino on this list.
Ric Flair- 2 Hall of Fame rings, WOOOOO!
Randy Savage- some amazing matches, OH YEAH!
Bret Hart- made even the worst guys look good.
Steve Austin- ass kickin, beer drinkin SOB.
Lou Thesz- worked his last match at 74 against Masahiro Chono. Yes 74!

Shawn Michaels is the Best Wrestler of All-Time. Bret Hart is a close 2nd. I believe we might be talking about CM Punk in this conversation in a few years.

If you say Great Khali or Giant Gonzalez is the Greatest Wrestler of All-Time, you should take a drug test immediately.

To me is Misawa/Kobashi and Bret/Shawn. Misawa/Kobashi for having the greatest matches in the history of wrestling, and bret/shawn for not only having great matches, but also for opening the door for technical wrestling in north america which gave us all the great wrestlers we have now. and also for pulling off the miracle in wrestling; having a good match with Kevin Nash.

Shawn Michaels. EASILY, that man can make any match seem thrilling and compelling to watch. He dragged Hulk Hogan to his greatest match in years upon years, at Summerslam 2005. He is the total package when it came to moves, selling, timing and making any opponent look good. He leaves a big, gaping hole missing on RAW.
Still remember 2005 being an exciting time to watch RAW because Shawn was on and he had a great match, every, single show. Nobody else took something like a throw away match in a title tournament like Shawn and made it into a fucking classic (with apt assistant from Shelton Benjamin)

Can't believe Kobashi only has 2 votes. Couldn't agree more. I voted for him. Misawa was probably better in terms of moveset and pure workrate, as was Jumbo, but Kobashi truly brought the heart and fighting spirit to a whole 'nother level. He's a hero of mine and to me what wrestling should be about. I'd recommend trying to watch a few of his matches before throwing your hat in with HBK/Flair/Bret etc. But to be fair, this question truly can't even be answered definitively simply because nobody has watched enough of the greatest of eras or places around the world, also in the context of what they are, nor having the impact of watching them for years and allowing those such workers to impact their lives, specifically their childhoods. 'Tis what makes us human and not robots. Or else Ed "Strangler" Lewis and The Goldust Trio would end up getting a ton of votes, probably.

Knowledge of Japanese Puro really isn't the norm on regular pro-wrestling boards. The amount of non-Japanese that watch must be in a few thousand at most. Hell even TNA is a far smaller user pool than WWE.

Hell even TNA is a far smaller user pool than WWE. That's what i'm saying, these results can't really be looked at as definitive, simply because many people haven't seen it, hence my Ed Lewis comment. Even someone like myself, who follows wrestling from Japan, Mexico, etc. etc. shouldn't be so quick to make a definitive call on who's truly the best, because of eras gone by that we haven't seen and can't judge in it's proper context.
