I've just finished watching ICW's Shug's Hoose Party 4 Night 2 during which Bram wrestled Ravie Davie. Right near the beginning of that match Bram is legit punching Davie in the face so badly that his eye swells shut and he is actually crying. I felt so uncomfortable watching it and it makes you question why the hell they would do something like that. Although right before the match Davie cut a promo calling Bram a woman beater (in ICW he broke up 2 weddings including Davie's moments before) but he also mentioned what he did in the states. I don't know if Bram knew that line was coming and he could have been really pissed.
Are there any matches/moments that you really struggled to watch?

I think it was back in 2004 during an EWR show in Quebec City. The main event was a TLC match for the EWR Championship and as I remember, both guys were doing insanely crazy spots in which they could've legit killed themselves for no reason whatsoever. I've seen women & kids cry and leave the building during that match. I'm not really easy to frighten in terms of pro wrestling but I definitely turned my back several times. It was really uncomfortable to watch.

How that man has not been sent to prison is beyond me. Yeah it beats me how he got away with what he did, mind you, I'm surprised that other guys didn't take matters into their own hands though.
One match recently that made me uncomfortable was the recent Jeremiah Crane VS Taya match from Lucha Underground. I'm ok with inter-gender matches if they are comedic. However this was hard hitting.

I've watched a ton of CZW stuff where they basically torture each other. How stupid is it that peple pay to watch something which is supposed to be fake, yet the people invlved will actualy really hurt each other in order to, I don't know, make it legit? Wanna be legit? try and get a contract with UFC, IMO.
Foley HITC comes to mind, anyway. As far as major organizations come to mind, that is.

Oh some of CZW's Tournament of Death stuff is incredibly hard to watch. The year Thumbtack Jack was in it jumps to mind, that was also the year Nick Gage almost died. They go way too far but they still get a pretty decent audience for it, for what ever reason. I can't imagine watching it live, I really can't watch it on video in the first place.

I didn't even finish listening to the Review-A-Wai for CZW or make it through the trailer for Damian's documentary. It's just not for me.

They go way too far but they still get a pretty decent audience for it, for what ever reason. I can't imagine watching it live, I really can't watch it on video in the first place. I love how YouTube works. Something even resembling nudity is not allowed at all because, you know, "will someone think about the children?". Yet there are tons and tons of CZW vids with people bleeding to death. Gave a look at that Cage/Jack match and remembered why I hated it in the first place. Also, it's amazing to think that Drake Younger is now in WWE if you look at the shit he was doing in CZW. I mean, the guy probably has no back anymore. |

I remember Jack had 2 needles go through his cheeks during that tournament as well. I don't know what worries me more: the fact someone came up with that spot or that they actually did it. It doesn't surprise me that he was forced to retire as he probably would have ended up killing himself in a match. Drake has such a lovable personality, that guy got over in PWG where he couldn't do that crap. I was amazed that WWE hired him but more surprised he was happy being a ref. Suppose he's already put his body through enough hell and now what's to make money doing something a bit kinder to himself. I also don't guy why guys are fine with having so many scars. Jimmy Havoc has only done 1 TOD, which he won this year, and he now has glaring scars on his shoulder forever. Can't imagine what some of these guys have as a result of doing several of them. |
