Charlotte is not interesting as a face.
Owens' temper tantrum was something I haven't seen in a while. Makes the US title seem important.
I woukd love to see Nakamura fight for the title at Summerslam. But....Don't see WWE having two foreigners fight for the title at Summerslam. That means Cena vs. Mahal. That would mean the Bella/Cena wedding is deferred to Wrestle Mania?
Wai, I don't watch Total Divas or Total Bellas. Is the wedding planning nearly complete?

Jeremy
Quick question: who is your most underrated wrestler of the last decade or two? I ask because mine is Jericho, is there a performer who has been as consistent as he has been even going to his WCW days, on the mic or in the ring his always been great.

With Jericho returning, Nakamura/Cena announced for next week, and seeing Tye Dilliger, it's like SmackDown was atoning for how bad Sunday was. What I see happening next week is Jinder interfering, leading to a triple threat at SummerSlam. I can't see WWE having Nakamura's first clean loss happening on TV, nonetheless a TV match with Cena. Currently it seems like nearly every championship match at SummerSlam will be a multiperson match. I won't have a problem if that's the case, but WWE will have a difficult time making all of the matches tell different stories. Disappointed we didn't see an update to The Fashion Files.
Question: Where do you see Jinder Mahal come WrestleMania? Do you see him being pushed as heavily then as he is now? Do you think he'll have a one-on-one match? Personally I'd love to see him lose to Jim Duggan, but it wouldn't surprise me if he's the guy that a returning Hulk Hogan confronts.

Views on SmackDown: An entertaining show tonight, but it doesn't make up for Sunday's abysmal showing nor SmackDown's systemic problems. John, on Review-A-Raw, you censured the SmackDown creative team for managing to produce such a bad show as Battleground with the wealth of talent at their disposal. Let's expand on this:
They have three characters playing the same anti-American gimmick. A gimmick that is pathetic and outdated. Furthermore, nobody has explained to me how the hell Vince intends to expand to international markets (such as India) while booking these lazy, jingoistic, stereotype-promoting storylines in which the American hero is bound to ultimately succeed.
Furthermore, the finishes they book consistently ruin matches. Owens-AJ should be a dream match but both matches were just meh, hindered by the finish and the crowd. They've even managed to make Nakamura have crappy matches (though, I concede, Baron was better tonight).
They had no plan for Mike Bennett when they brought him in and now we see this "Power of Love" crap. WTF is this?
And they love to hotshot. We've seen a surfeit of title changes that degrade their value. (WWE title - 4 changes, Women's title - 4 changes, tag titles - 2 changes, & the US title has changed FIVE times in the few months since it's been on SmackDown) And now they're hotshotting matches. Jericho makes a surprise comeback and loses in an unadvertised title match all in one night. And there's another US title match next week! And Cena-Nakamura, which could literally be a 'Mania main event!
And with all their talent, they still choose to build around guys like Jinder and Baron. That's just plain stupid. A lot of people blame Road Dogg. Is this fair? Ultimately, they're all Vince's choices, but Raw doesn't suck this much. Raw has bad storylines, no doubt, but there's a cohesiveness to their main stories.
Everybody seems to like SmackDown simply because it's one less hour than Raw, but this storytelling is pure trash.
Take Care
(P.S. Sorry for the lengthy rant, but I'd love to hear you two take a more long-term view of the product, which I know is difficult for you as it's tough enough just to keep up with the week-to-week. I appreciate all your hard work.)

First of all congrats to John Pollock. But I am disappointed you didn't name your child Wai Pollock. On to SD, I really enjoyed the main event and I am happy we get to see Cena vs Nakamura. As an Asian this makes me feel very proud. Wai Ting is the Nakamura to me when it comes to wrestling podcasts.
I hope John gets his kid involved in ddp yoga and muay thai like the champion Wai Ting.
Question: Do you think NAKAMURA, WWE (C) vs Ibushi when wwe goes to Japan is a POSSIBILITY?
again congrats to John Pollock

Welcome back John!
Do you think we might get a match between Shane and Kevin Owens at Summerslam or a later PPV?
Also do you know when Ziggler is set to return to Smackdown Live and who do you see him feud with when he returns?

Jericho's return was a nice surprise, good to see him back. Not sure what they are doing with the US title, but I'm glad they are putting the spotlight on it. I'm much more interested in the US title then the actual WWE championship.
I'm really looking forward to Cena vs. Nakamura, but I feel like Cena will go over. Hoping they keep Nakamura strong somehow.
Question: Are there any details on Jericho's return such as length of this new run? I didn't hear anything about his return so it was quite unexpected.

They're teasing the KO/Shane stuff pretty hard at this point so if that ends up being the direction for SummerSlam and Cena gets Jinder, does that leave us with AJ vs Nakamura?
Do you think they give Cena the record-breaking title win at SummerSlam? It feels like it should happen against a better opponent than Jinder.

Awesome main event, and it looks like we'll have another next week too. With next week's main event, do you think it's a bit of a waste to have them wrestle for the first time on SD vs. a PPV? The match seems like such a big deal, but seems a bit rushed.

I think Jericho returning was not good, he should had returned when Owens would do Us Open Challenge. I am done with Jinder Mahal and India experiment, this needs to be stop and Jinder must lose now, how can WWE portrait Jinder as a babyface to Indian fans where he can't win a single match on his own. I am done with that many fans over here even don't care. Yes Khali is popular in India but still we all know he is the worst wrestler in the planet though. Many people also don't understand Punjabi and they need to drop that first. And with the Mahal push still going, i know WWE is not happy because they are not getting network subscribers because half of the people don't care for the streaming networks, that's why they brought Khali but it still won't work. + WWE is available for free to cable tv 12 hrs later. And then even how can those hindi commentators say Khali is the best and great superstar ever, those two are just anchors from India they don't know anything about wrestling they worked at Sony network here where WWE has tv Deal with.
