Jeremy QUESTION: who is your early pick to win the G1? Mine is Kota Ibushi or Naito as i don't think the favourites Omega and Okada need to win it and this would propel either Kota or Naito into the IWGP title picture.
P.s the Naito V Ibushi match was amazing

This night made me so happy that Sabre Jr. and Ibushi didn't sign with the WWE, absolutely stellar matches.

I'm saying this now cause this will be the only time this tournament where I can say it probably......
I AM COMPLETLY UP TO DATE ON MY G1 WATCHING!!!!
The last three matches were all outstanding. I'll be honest, I was a little concerned about ZSJ in this tournament cause I just don't have a feel on how New Japan will present him in the heavyweight division. Yeah he will have great matches, but I thought New Japan could definitely have him go like 2-8 and lose all his big matches against the top of the block. Him beating Tanahashi in his first match has rested my fears. And to the surprise of nobody, ZSJ is awesome at telling a story inside the ropes.

Chris from Melbourne, Australia.
I'd say a pretty good first night of G1, even if I viewed it almost 24-hours late.
Of the G1 matches I thought that Koda would win, needless to say my picks were Koda & Kenny.
QUESTION: If a champion gets pined during the G1, does the winner receive a championship match after the G1? Normally in NJPW if a champion gets pined in a tag match the winner receives a championship match down the road.

Can't believe you're back already. Certainly not complaining. Welcome back! As for the G1, I kind of wish they didn't give the winner the Tokyo Dome as I feel that Okada/Omega is going to headline that show and that means Omega has to win it. Although it would be interesting to see Okada win it since he's the reigning champ and the last time the reigning champ won it was in 2000 when Kensuke Sasaki won it.

Highland from ILL:
i have been watching New Japan on AXS over the last 3 months. After listening to John and Dave gush about the G1 I decided to cancel my WWE sub and give it a shot. This was my first time seeing the press conference and promos of New Japan. How awesome are they? Also, my first time seeing Ibushi, what a wrestler. His sell job on the first Destino near fall was just the shit. Really enjoying what I am seeing. It made watching RAW on Monday impossible.
