Main thing i have seen from watching Glow is that Lana does a better Russian accent than Alison Brie and secondly Alex Reily is as good an actor as he is a wrestler. loved the gym being named Chavo's as the former Los Guerrero member was a trainer on the show. But my show highlight was Awesome Kong versus the kkk, was dare I say it, Kharma
Overall for the series, 8 early 80's moonsaults out of 10

I enjoyed the series and was able to binge in one sitting as the episodes are only 30 minutes. As a fan of orange is the new black whose creator also created the Netflix Glow I can see in future seasons exploring more of the cast backstory like OITNB. We got a taste in episode 4 with the she wolf putting on the wig and eye liner in the beginning of that episode
Carmen was my favorite character and I am sure her Inca character is a Mount Fiji archetype. But to be a tv critic for a sec they did a miscarriage and abortion side plot in episode 2 and 8 that could have touch the subject matter a tad more tasteful
Definitely a recommend

This show was really easy to watch and I was rather happy the episodes were only 30 minutes. Felt it pleased us wrestling fans with a lot of the insider references and the cameos from wrestlers but it could grab a general audience as well with the story it told. Also much like pro wrestling the character we were meant to "hate" in Ruth I actually liked and the one we were meant to "love" in Debbie I actually found hard to get behind her, at least at first as by the mid way point I liked both girls. Sam (Marc Maron) was probably my favourite overall character as he not only had the best jokes but had so much story to get into it. I did think that a lot of characters didn't get enough at all but it ended clearly teasing more series so I imagine everyone will get there episode to shine and there is a lot more story they could tell.

I wasn't sure what to make of this after the first 2 episodes but was glad that I stuck through it (However I can certainly understand if people stopped watching especially after episode 2) I definitely enjoyed both the actual Wrestling and the behind the scenes look at how to produce a Wrestling Show. Unfortunately from episode 7, I got bored of the characters private lives (But I'm guessing that was because of I binge watched the series)
I thought that Marc Meron was brilliant and certainly a revelation and hopefully he's in future episodes. My favorite scene was definitely the Ode to Vince Russo, Where in the Title match in episode 10, they had a Tag Match (For a Singles Title), had a double cross, then had an impromptu Title match (And Title Change) only to have another Title Change, When Liberty Bell lost to Welfare Queen (Who had lost previously on the same show)
Should there be future episodes, I hope there are more inside references like ....On A Pole match, Bra & Pantie matches...etc.

As a fan of the original G.L.O.W, I was skeptical as they had said they would do sort of based and not truly based on the characters, instead they took totally new characters though there are several that have familiarities (Nanooshka instead of the one witht he russian accent Zoey?) Overall I will nitpick on ONE thing and ONE thing only because I liked the show.
Am I the only one that was annoyed by the sound the put into make noise when you hit the ropes? It sounded like those pringy things made of plastic on the rope which no self respecting fed would do!

Hey Guys I have to say I really enjoyed GLOW I watched it all in one sitting, and not once did I feel like fuck this is boring,The storyline was simple to follow and never once did you feel they were trying to insult you're intelligence. Seeing cameos by former wwe wrestlers really was a pleasant surprise and the soundtrack to the show fit perfectly Thanks For the Reviews over the years you guys are awesome

Mark from Ashford, Kent, UK.
Long-time listener, first-time poster. I absolutely adored this series. I binged watched all 10 episodes in 5 episode sittings in one day. Each episode grips you with its amazing story. I think the show really hits its stride at the end of episode 2. I had some friends round recently and they weren't all that interested in watching the show, but, after one episode they wanted to watch more and we ended up watching seven episodes. This shows just how good the show is. I loved the soundtrack. Anything that uses Queen and David Bowie is good in my book.
My favourite character would have to be Alison Brie as Ruth. Even though Ruth is not perfect and did a very bad thing that would make you hate her, Brie plays her part so well that you can't help but like her and you can't help but want her to succeed. Also, Marc Maron as Sam is great, I find myself laughing at some of his great lines and I loved his character development throughout the series. Everyone in this show is great and I would happily recommend the show to anyone.
Great production, loveable characters and it just does wrestling right.

At the time of posting, I'm five or six episodes in.
I'm finding it hard to get past Marc Maron's Weekend at Bernie's appearance. I keep waiting for Andrew McCarthy to turn him into a human marionette doll. Otherwise, the show is pretty enjoyable on the surface but deep down, I don't really connect with any of the characters. Most of the central characters are so flawed that I cannot sympathize with them. The one character I connect with is Carmen. She's strong but kind and good-hearted. It's like she's the only person who's there because she wants to be there.

3 episodes in and I'm already hooked. The best part of this series is how they make fun of the usual wrestling sterotypes. The guy playing the rich guy is the best so far. He's just the plain money mark who just wants to have a wrestling show for the sake of it and the way he explains it in episode 2 or 3 is awesome. The Iron Sheik reference is spot on about as far as the 80's were. All in all a very good show and, along with The Wrestler with Mickey Rourke, a nice wake up call for people outside of wrestling who think they know about wrestling. But with a gentle, Hollywood touch to please everyone.

It really took me a few episodes to get into Glow and I think the main reason was because I really disliked Alison Brie. It was not until the second half of the season when she really changed my opinion. I think she did a great job of being an actress and unbelievable wrestler to embracing wrestling and becoming a believable 80s Soviet heel character. Betty Gilpin was very good as Liberty Belle, great casting for the All-American girl who had an interesting conflict with her husband's affair effecting her commitment to become a wrestler.
John Morrison was excellent as the trainer but I didnt understand why he was only in one episodes. It didnt make sense for the stunt woman Cherry to become the trainer. Cherry's husband did an incredible job as the referee and had some of the funniest moments in the second half of the season.
Marc Maron was fantastic as sleezy director. Its hard to imagine anyone playing the role better than he did.
Machu Pichu and her entire family were fantastic. The father who didnt want his daughter really painted the picture of how out of place women wrestlers were in the 80s the scene in the finale where he showed up and started the chant was one of the more powerful emotion scenes in the series.
A few of the things I didnt like, were the abortion angle. It seemed completely out of place with the rest of the show and the conflict was resolved almost instantly. The finish of the final match was ridiculous. A tag team match followed by a double cross followed by a fan coming out of the stands and then Welfare Queen was ridiculous. I also didnt like Brie and Gilpin confront Maron outside of the ring following the match in front of the crowd and would have worked better behind the curtain.

Hello gents. I watched the pilot and was immediately interested in seeing the rest, and before I knew it I was done all 10 episodes in two days. I love this series. I definitely would describe 'GLoW' as funny, sexy, and nostalgic. This series is also a reminder of the roots of wrestling's golden 80's era where as per the times stereotypes were all the rage. Kinda ironic that the "stereotype" of wrestling is to have characters based on racial and societal stereotypes. Also, I agree with u John, I wonder if the WWE will recognize it the same way they did with "The Wrestler" (personally I think they will, since they must've conceived the Mae Young classic because of advance knowledge of 'GLoW', and maybe even with perhaps Naomi's gimmick). Never know. Keep up the legendary work gentlemen.

I thoroughly enjoyed this series and was able to binge watch the entire season in a couple sittings. I couldn't get over the fact that Sam (Marc Meron) sounded so much like Seth Rollins and I think he was my favorite character. Really enjoyed the moment when he quit then he came back and bought into the producer's story of what GLOW should really be like.
Interested for a second season to dive in deeper to the characters backgrounds and see where they can go from here.
Solid 8.5/10 for me.

I liked the series but didn't love it. Because the series has the executive producer of Orange Is The New Black I suppose I expected many more well-rounded characters. The show gives you a few fleshed out characters but generally speaking aside from the main characters, the Awesome Kong's of this show had no character. I also feel that there were some dropped plot points such as when Debbie and Ruth told Cherry that they wanted to do something more than the standard collar-elbow tie-up, side headlock, and hammerlock spot, it seemed that there was tension and it was never brought up again. It also happens in the finale when Beirut seems to be shaken by the amount of real heat that she got. I guess they may continue that next season but it seemed like an awkward bit of dramatic tension where it was placed.
Sorry for the long post, I can tell you guys already hate me but I've got a quick question: Months ago I saw on TMZ that Brooke Hogan and Lacey Von Erich were putting together a female wrestling show.Do you think this being a success would help push their plans forward?
7.2 stereotypes out of 10
