This Saturday night down at BMO Field. Anybody going/care? I tried to get tickets and was going to make the trek from Saskatoon but I couldn't get tickets. And I was online right when tickets went on sale to the general public. Cheapest tickets on resale sites are $180 right now which is a touch to steep for me.
Huge TFC fan, obviously hoping they pull it out on Saturday night.

$180 is a fair price if you can somehow afford it. Apparently tickets sold out in 3 minutes when they went on general sale, and that includes tickets that cost up to $550.
I'll be watching on tv and having my own party, but I know some SSH who are going (including my brother). Lucky basterds!
Anyways, it's all about the TFC. Seattle can take their Space Needle, shine it up real nice and…. well, you know the rest.

I was online right when tickets went on sale. Guess just luck that I wasn't the ones who got threw.
Every ticket on the resale sites are 2-3 times face value.
Sucks that 2,000 tickets go to MLS sponsors. Maybe if they didn't get that many I would have snagged a ticket. Oh well.

Gutted. TFC was the better team, but that's the way soccer works.
a) Happy for Stefan Frei though. He was one of my favorite players when he was with TFC. Glad he can add MLS champion to his resume. That save of his in extra time. Holy shit. Unbelievable. Most important save in MLS history I would have to think.
b) fuck TSN for putting a camera in Morrow's face right after he missed the PK.

What did you think about Giovinco being taken off before penalties?

My friend was trying to get tickets but couldn't, I still would have loved to have been there even though we lost. Yeah, that save by Frei, that was one of the best saves I've seen in any league, he was the reason Seattle won. It's too bad that Michael Bradley had to miss a penalty, he was our best player, but penalties are essentially a coin toss. Giovinco shouldn't have been taken off but I thought Ricketts brought a lot of speed and energy, he created some chances, so I can't pin the loss on Greg Vanney's decisions. It's tough to lose like that but it was quite the year, hats off to Toronto FC.

yeah, Bradley had such a great 120 minutes.
Obviously it's easy to second guess. When they said Ricketts was warming up, I thought maybe they were going to take Beitashour off, put Ricketts as an attacking mid, and shift Cheyrou to the right side flank. Was really surprized they took Gio off when there was a good chance it was going to be heading to penalties.

It's not second-guessing. I think everyone was shocked when Giovinco was taken off immediately as it happened. I was stunned. I just stared at my tv and couldn't believe it. There is talk that Giovinco was injured but he was very angry when he was subbed off, swore at Vanney etc. Didn't seem like he asked to be subbed off to me. And anyways, even if he was tired or something, just leave him on the pitch and switch to a 4-3-3. We were in the ascendancy and Giovinco could have played a negligible role out wide for the last 15 minutes; he's still a threat with the ball at his feet.
Anyways, hats off to Frei and Seattle. They deserved it for holding the fort. I know they had zero shots the whole game, but that just means that the onus was on us to score, and we didn't. A fair argument could be made that we lost the Final more than Seattle won it, but at the end of the day they are deserving MLS Cup Champions.
Next year will be ours for the taking...
