I just saw it. Friends and I got there early but were totally caught off-guard by the lineup. This was a Force Awakens-level of a wait. Film was really good and very faithful to the tone of the comic book. If you love the character, you'll be very pleased with this. Personally, I love Deadpool as part of an ensemble, but find too much of him tiring, which was no different here. Still, I think they did a perfect job translating the character to screen. It adds depth to the overall tone of the often too serious X-Men franchise.

Speaking of, I just noticed your proboards username is 'francismh' which is coincidentally related to the Deadpool movie ...."What's my name"

Speaking of, I just noticed your proboards username is 'francismh' which is coincidentally related to the Deadpool movie ...."What's my name" [SPOILERS] I think they wanted to build anticipation for the next film but ran out of budget and time to actually shoot anything. But yeah, I think it's a logical step. Cable's the traditional straight man to Deadpool, which was the role played by Colossus here. Like Colossus, I'm expecting more of a comical, weirdo from the future iteration of Cable than someone to be taken too seriously like in the comics. Timing might actually work out well to introduce Cable since they're just establishing Apocalypse and teen Jean/Scott on the other side. Still, I'm sure there may have been some hesitance not saving him for a future main franchise film. With the success of this though, we'll definitely see far more mutants in the next film. Would love to see Domino, Cannonball and all of classic X-Force on screen at some point. There's definitely more value in branding "X-Force" than "New Mutants".

I really liked this movie. Was good fun, lots of action and didn't drag. Ryan Reynolds felt like a really good fit for the role.
