Been catching up on LU season one this entire month and I love it. They've created their own universe and it's a breath of fresh air. The Grave Consequences match between Mil Muertes and Fenix was unreal and IMO the last great violent match since the Extreme Rules Cena/Lesnar match.
I think the commentary does a lot for the product too. Striker and Vampiro put over wrestler's motivations and their backgrounds and no one is treated like a joke.

I have not once heard that Lucha Underground is behind on paying anyone.
And the talent was told this weekend that season 3 will start filming in July.

I really enjoy Lucha Underground. It's what television should be, entertaining.
But where did the music go? I guess Mil Muertes is not a music fan.

Meltzer say LU went back to the original investors and asked them for more money to fund Season 3. Seasons in LU are short this time as they filmed for roughly a month this time as the 1st run episodes will go until the summer. Season 3 is now scheduled to start filming in March but not air until 2017.

the 39 episodes of season 1 was a little long.
these next two seasons being about 25 episodes each I think will work much better.

Isn't lucha mainstream in Mexico like WWF in the 80s? How is it underground?
Is it filmed in an underground parking garage?

kind of. It has a Fight Club feel to it. Obviously Lucha is not underground in Mexico.
With season 3 not airing until 2017, they are going to have at least 8-10 months, minimum, to find new investors and hopefully tv outlets if need be.

This show is touted as a TV scripted program by its owners, can someone explain how this is any different than Vince McMahons much controversial "sports entertainment"?
Scripted show, scripted promos, overproduced vignettes....what am I missing?

Wrestling is a sport. Entertainment is something people enjoy. Lucha is more of a religion. So "religious entertainment?"

I've always looked at it as Lucha Underground is a telenovella about a wrestling promotion, more than a wrestling promotion itself.

All wrestling on TV is a soap opera, this is what I don't get.
The notion of one being guilty of all these things that the other heralded wrestling show does the exact same way.
Is it because one is the biggest in the world, and the other is a small niche product? Will LU become "overrated" if it becomes a popular show? Do they suffer the same type if scrutiny if they try reach for mainstream appeal?
This is what I don't get about so-called fans of pro wrestling. Blind eye to the little leagues and constantly waiting with fingers ready to wave at the big leagues.

Is Fox still making their wrestling drama or did that fall through?
So far Lucha Underground hasn't hit a popularity threshold where it can have haters. NXT just crossed, TNA has been there for a decade. You guys make me want to watch Lucha Underground though.
