Not a lot of love for Nate Miltons king of sports podcast. Anyone had a listen? Like Nate on review an impact so wonder if this is any good I am a subscriber to the Kings of Sport podcast. Their program is interesting to me. I used to listen to VOC Nation but eventually cancelled my subscription because it seemed they were more interested in putting their own inside jokes over the talent they were interviewing. (I'm sure that was just my observation.) There were a handful of other wrestling podcasts I tried listening to but neither their content nor delivery interested me to come back. In general, I enjoy listening to Podcasts as a way of breaking up the monotony of my workday. Aside from wrestling themed podcasts, I subscribe to other categories such as: Comedy: CBC Radio's Laugh Out Loud, Comedy Factory, This is That, The Irrelevant Show, and Wiretap / Kevin Smith's SMODcast lineup / The Adam Carolla Show / Jay Mohr Stories / Gilbert Gottfried's Amazing Colossal Podcast I also enjoy music and subscribe to: In the Groove Jazz and Beyond / Soul and Jazz.com / The Jazz Session I used to listen to Harry Shearer's Le Show but it sort of disappeared over the summer. Not sure if or when it will start up again.

It's a great time to be a fan of wrestling audio. I have the radio on all day at work, it's either Bay Area Sports or wrestling related. I don't even watch wrestling anymore, just enjoy hearing others talk about it. So much content out there, it's great, especially when your baseball and football team are crapping the bed. I think John Pollack is the best non-performer in the wrestling podcast industry. He works hard, he's always seemingly doing something related to his craft, does great interviews. Bryan Alvarez is my favorite performer podcaster. What I like about Bryan is on a show like WO Live, he gets a call from Jim in Virginia every week, and it's always about women's wrestling. Instead of pulling an Agnew on him, he ran with it and turned it into a gimmick. The same with his non wrestling show, After Dark. I think wrestling fans in general already have the stigma, so why when calling or participating in wrestling related threads or podcasts would someone treat them like shit? Bryan seems to get the same 10 callers, so instead of mocking them or degrading, he spins it best possible for the show. It's great to hear wrestlers interviewing wrestlers, but all the ass kissing is hard to stomach. Paul Heyman making his way around the circuit has been fantastic. like others above, haven't listened to Piper or Goldberg, they seem to join the party late and just trying to grab a piece of what Austin and Jericho created. MLW is good, everything seems pretty organic. I used to listen to Court Bauer with Alvarez and sometimes Meltzer many years ago and he was my favorite interview. So when MLW popped up, it was great to hear him and Konan do their thing. That 4 hour interview with Konan and Jericho is probably the best all around set of podcasts I've ever heard. Cornette is tolerable until he starts talking politics. Listen to LAW, Review-a-raw, review-a-wai, Bauer and Pollack, MLW Radio, Bryan and Vinny (and Craig), WO Live, any Alex Greenfield Podcast, Stone Cold and Jericho if it's wrestling related. Jim Ross very selectively, respect his resume and best announcer ever but his podcasts seem like he's preaching and negative in nature. Meltzer is the the all time best writer/journalist/historian but besides his hit on the LAW, don't care for much of his audio. Would like to someday hear Alvarez and Pollack join up for a podcast. Anyways sorry for the long post, just happy to see many others into the podcasts as I am. Think you'll find piper was one of the first to have a podcast. Some hilarious and insightful shoot episodes from up to 3 years ago. Maybe not as early as Colt but ahead of the game nonetheless. #theRodPod

John is head and shoulders the best wrestling podcaster out there but I have to say that Smart Wrestling Fan is just fantastic stuff. They come out on a tuesday and review, Impact, Smackdown, WWE/TNA PPV'S and Raw. The two main guys, Joe Negron and Larry have great chemistry and it's really funny. They used to be 6-7hours long but now run to about 3-3 and a half! Worth a shot
As for non-wrestling, Stop Podcasting Yourself is a Vancouver based show, Just two guys and a guest shootin the shit for an hour and a half, It's great stuff.

The Raw broadcast is already 3 hours, plus over run. Just my personal choice, but I don't think I'd be up for listening to a 3 hour podcast about it. Back when I was subscribing to VOC nation, they occasionally recorded their attendance at various wrestling-conventions and as a result, they posted some 3+ hour shows. It felt like such a chore to make my way through those shows.
I have developed a habit of listening to podcasts at 2X speed.

Bryan seems to get the same 10 callers, so instead of mocking them or degrading, he spins it best possible for the show. Agree with the bold portion 100%. This is what makes Bryan a great host. I've noticed that John of Arkansas, who would often be pretty much laughed at when calling into The LAW, calls into WO Live somewhat frequently (at least far more than he calls into The LAW anymore) and is able to have a conversation with Mike and Bryan without any snickering or sarcastic comments after he hangs up. I believe there are a few other callers who I now hear far more on WO Live than The Law as well, and I have a feeling it's not just because the former airs earlier in the evening. On After Dark, Bryan turned the paper delivery caller and the bar crawler caller into practically semi-regular guests, and he's able to parlay their rather pedestrian personal situations (both calling or listening when out alone in the dark) into discussing various subjects brought up on the show, such as disappearances or serial killers. I can imagine some hosts would just hang up (or in some cases, talk down and then hang up) on someone calling while on their way home from the bar at 3 AM, but Bryan is able to make lemonade out of it.

Don't get me wrong, great conversation about podcasts, I like LAW stuff, and I find sometimes however that flat out they shit way to hard on the product, and this is something that bugs me, I don't know their background but I don't believe any of the guys have stepped foot one in a wrestling ring to actually wrestle, this doesn't mean they don't or can't have an opinion but that to me cheapens it when they shit on it.
1) It doesn't make me watch it less. 2) It doesn't change the product to make it better, so not sure why they shit on it. 3) To bitch and moan accomplishes little in the sense that it will improve the product.
They do have some funny momments and booking ideas, and offer some fun along the way but sometimes they just seem to hit a total negativity package, and yes, to me denagrating fans because they don't share your opinion isn't funny and it isn't something I really think a host should do.

Some of the same suggestions as people have mentioned:
Wrestling Related: OSW Review AE Podcast New Generation Project Low Blows
Non Wrestling: Surly Bastard Cast (Film Reviews) Cinema Swirl (Film Reviews by Kevin from AE Podcast with his friend Sam who hasn't seen any big pop culture films)

Piper's Pit is the worst wrestling podcast I've heard. I think Roddy Piper is probably the worst interviewer I've seen or heard in my life.
