Conned or money-mark. Take whatever term you want and that applies to Dixie Carter. TNA has lost somewhere near $45 million. Maybe more. She has no business plan or vison for wrestling. Her vision is only what somebody sweet-talked her into believing.
Russo must have simply presented his new theory to Dixie on why pro wrestling today is so bad along with plans to fix it. He probably also tricked her into thinking that Russo himself is blameless and that others are just out there to get him. Dixie (being a sucker that she is) then goes and hires him placing TNA's relationship with Spike in jeopardy.

There doesn't need to be violence against women, its just a good reason for a face to save a damsel in distress. Man vs Man woman vs woman is still compelling to me and if you need to mix the 2, something failed. Thanks for the reply Chris and everyone. Does ROH not get paid because they're owned by the people that own the channel? Why would they get paid? Sinclair & ROH are one and the same. It'd be like WWE paying NXT for runnign their programming on the WWE network. ROH doesn't get paid for doing television, but might get some cashflow from Sinclair as an investment into that part of Sinclair's business. When Sinclair bought ROH, they said their ultimate goal was to show it on their stations and hope other stations in markets they're not at would pay to syndicate it. So as far as that goes, ROH's revenue streams are: #1 ticket sales, #2 PPV/iPPV numbers (which is less than TNA's, and TNA has said themselves they're not breaking even with their numbers), and #3 merchandise.

Russo supposedly told Jim Ross that he was a consultant to the announcers for only a couple of weeks. Furthermore, Russo claims that TNA lied when they told people last week that Russo's duties did not go beyond that. Truth of the matter is that Russo was part of Creative.
(Not like that was a shock with his fingerprints all over bad tv segments since late last year.)
What Russo said is notable because:
1. He makes it clear to Spike that his role was not minor which TNA might have used as a reason for his involvement. Thus if Russo was an important reason why there is no tv contract renewal, his statement gives even a less chance of TNA making up with Spike.
2. TNA never told anybody that Russo's duties were only as consultants to the announcers. It was Russo himself who stated that. So "the lie" was not TNA's. It was Russo's lie.
Nice guy, this Vince Russo. After he gets fired from TNA, he is doing what he can to make sure Spike will want nothing to do with TNA.

Vince Russo can also sell himself like a John Cena promo. If you aren't absolutely paying attention, it can sound like he's actually convincing with what he's saying. DI is another similar one, and Dixie once said that her business strategy was to surround herself with people who understand the industry. If Russo just shows the parts of his resume that look good (like anyone should) then it's quite impressive. Nevermind that Vince McMahon was actually the orchestrator behind everything he did right in the WWF. Whoever called Dixie a money-mark was spot on.

Whoever booked TNA last week deserves a medal. This week builds to next week. Weeks before this show were build from previous shows. Everything was in ring except promos. Man I was so happy. Why don't more shows have 2 show tournaments even to find #1 contenders for a title even if its not for a title match. Taz wasn't awful con commentary either.
