Hey everyone,
I'm at a loss - on an episode of Raw years ago (late 1990s or very early 2000s), Vince McMahon, Steve Austin and a third person were in the ring talking, and someone's mic wasn't working properly. Austin proceeded to throw it into the crowd or at the big screen and/or ramp.
Vince McMahon's reaction was to chastise austin, screaming, "That's a $10,000 microphone!!"
Another mic malfunctioned during the segment, and Austin threw that one away, too.
I remember this vividly, and remember how great it was on live TV. But I can't remember when it happened and I can't find it online.
Does anyone know which episode of Raw it was where this happened?
I'm usually pretty good at tracking things like this down, so I'll be very impressed if someone can track this down.
Thanks!

Jericho tells a story in one of his books about tossing a microphone into the stands once after it crapped out during a promo and getting chewed out by Vince backstage. IIRC Vince asked Jericho why he thought it was OK to do that, Jericho said because he saw Austin do it once, and Vince basically saying "Austin can do shit like that. You can't."

Not to mention, you throw ANYTHING into the crowd and open yourself up immediately to a law suit. A hockey puck or a baseball are objects that are accepted to leave the playing field, it's on the tickets. There MIGHT be some such reference on the back of a WWE ticket, I can't remember and I've never sat ringside so I never thought of it, but I think you could easily argue that a microphone breaking your nose after someone throws it into the crowd isn't "part of the show".
