I await the blu-ray fact-checking! It hasn't usurped DVDs like DVDs killed off VHS. Just most people are content with the quality and cost of DVDs. You'd really need a large TV to get the benefit of it. Like maybe above 32 inches. Although Blus have gotten much less expensive, charging only a few euros more than the cost of DVDs. With the advent of HD streaming services like Netflix, Bluray could never really gain a foothold. Physical media won't go away but it will get less and less popular. I LOVE HD though. Unless I absolutely can't avoid it, I'll never watch anything in Standard Def again.

Sorry Wai, usually I admire your chaotic neutral approach to morality, even when I disagree (as in the case of your stance on not returning found money), but you are totally in the wrong on the Aries/Hemme thing.
You say grabbing would have been worse, and I mean, yeah, that would have been messed up. But honestly, in my eyes, this was just as bad. This was a man using psychological, sexual, and physical dominance against a woman who could do nothing about it, and had to accept the embarrassment. It was a clear cut form of sexual harassment. There are plenty of people out there that would argue with you to the death that this was some form of passive rape in and of itself. I won't go that far, but it was definitely wrong.
It's too bad it wasn't worked though, cause I could very clearly see how it COULD be funny, if a woman wasn't being sexually harassed against her will.

Definitely agree with Wai here. Aries was just playing the heel and if we keep putting restrictions on what heels can do we'll eventually eliminate the heel role altogether. He never touched her, he just did his pose in the corner while she was against the turnbuckle. I feel like people these days just look for things to be offensive and controversial. Every one wants a scandal so they'll invent one from nothing.
Judging by Aries' tweets, this is already water under the bridge

Sorry, this went past "being a heel!" territory into mistreatment of a woman by a man. A form of power abuse we shouldn't shrug off.
We say grabbing would have been worse, but this accomplished the same thing AND Aries is in the clear. That's worse to me than if he'd grabbed her and everyone was outraged.

Mistreatment of a woman? Give me a break, he was acting in character during a live performance. Keep sensationalizing things and pretty soon you won't be able to wave hello to someone without people claiming harassment. Nothing he did was any worse than what DX used to do back in 1997. Shawn Michaels would tell women in the audience to suck his dick for Christ's sake. And no, I have no problem with that either.

And please tell me how this is the same as grabbing a woman...completely different scenario

This is on a televised show where a heel is playing a heel. I remember the Jericho Flag incident in which he performed a heel tactic, yet, he had to apologize for it right after. How are these wrestlers supposed to effectively do their job if you keep on restricting them. I think Lil' Jon said it best. Don't start no sh!t there won't be no sh!t

I don't think you get to play the "she was embarrassed" card when she was on three times as many televisions in a bikini willingly "eating" a pie with her ass. If you want to play the "She was made to look submissive and inferior to him" card go for it, that's every heel with either a female manager who screwed something up or feuding with a face with a female manager in history.
If it was shoot (presumably it was) he should definitely apologize, but at the same time it was a spur-of-the-moment in-character decision. I don't think anything more than a "That was a dick move, I apologize" is necessary.

I really enjoyed the intro to the podcast from an unintentional comedy perspective as a big sports fan.
I don't really think of Sonnen/Silva 1 as one of the biggest sports meltdowns/choke jobs of all-time but it was humourous to see a non sports fan try to find other sports parallels for what happened last night in the Leafs/Bruins game. At least you got Bill Buckner right and the 1993 Leafs' loss to the Kings at the end of the show.

It's tough. I think Aries wasn't trying to sexually harass Christy and his intentions were to be a heel. But he could have went about it in other ways.
I remember one heated debate awhile back happened about Devon and the Pope. TNA can be intense.

Sonnen dominates a fight for 22-minutes and then gets caught with a triangle when he just had to ride out the clock - how do you not see a comparison?

Hemme / Aries
I can't believe I'm writing this, but I agree with Pollock on this one (providing it's a shoot and this doesn't progress into an Aries/Hemme program which it probably will now). 'Playing a heel' only works if, at some point, all parties are complicit in the context of the 'play. Otherwise, you're just taking advantage of a wrestling ring to justify your asshole nature. Unless, being a ring announcer means you are a character who is subject to almost being dick-slapped. Maybe. I don't recall Michael Buffer getting mock tea bagged in WCW though.
The closest thing I can compare it to was in the Wrestling with Shadows doc when Bret asked Shawn if he was OK with him saying all this hateful shit to him beforehand. Shawn said yes. He cleared 'what a heel would do' before he did it. If Hemme knew nothing about this & wasn't given the opportunity to turn it down, Aries and his short-sighted approach to getting heel heat should be punished.
