I raised this point during my feedback last night about how the WWE kept Daniel Bryan off television, even though the YES YES YES thing exploded after Wrestlemania.
'I wonder if the wwe think in some quasi way that by not putting him on tv, it only enhances the thirst to see him from the hardcores and somehow gets him over more because hes not being pushed. so the hardcore fans that know this start to get even more angry at the big bad wwe and become more vocal in their support for him, thus actually pushing bryan?'
I really believe that it should be considered that the WWE purposely do this so it actually pushes Bryan more in some reverse psychology way. Especially with a guy like Daniel Bryan, who is mainly over with the 'hardcore always gunna watch' wrestling fans who know hes getting buried/depushed. Bryan got the sympathy of this segment crowd when he was buried at Wrestlemania. so surely by leaving him off tv and burying him a bit more it only makes him more over with the segment of the audience who feel Bryan is being held back by the wwe, therefore wanting to see him overcome this and become more vocal in their support and with their wallets to get him on tv
Wondering what other people thoughts are? its just a theory really but what incentive is there to push Daniel Bryan properly when burying him seems to push him better than a proper generic push ever could?

I also hear that they made the XFL fail on purpose so they could sell all the merchandise as expensive collectors items.
They're really evil geniuses up there at WWE. Not incompetent at all.

I think they're pretty much constantly working the internet. It's hilarious.

I'm not saying they knew that an 18 second match would get him over to the lengths it did but after he got over because he did get buried at mania, theres no incentive to start pushing him just yet and should really continue to hold him back a bit longer to milk it, I don't think this is the definite answer to whats happened because maybe the wwe are stupid, this is just an alternative explanation to the 'argh wwe are so stupid' argument.

I think the idea was to get Shaemus over and show that anything can happen in the blink of an eye.
The last part they got, although not with the reaction they were hoping for. Shaemus is so dead now and Bryan is over huge!
I was surprised they basically kept him off RAW but maybe that was on purpose.

I was surprised we didn't get more Yes chants last night considering how many Yes signs that were in the crowd in the picture posted in the RAW thread yesterday. Meltzer said on his show today that they were handing out Yes signs so I guess that makes sense. But why on Earth are they handing out Yes signs but not putting him on TV? Totally bizarre.

They were probably handing out 'yes' signs in an effort to kill it. Once the authority (in this case the WWE) encourages something, it stops being cool. IMO anyways.

i'd be willing to bet vince is trying to work someone all the time, but I don't think he's as calculating as people try to pretend... even for mania, the bryan match i think was more a bad idea then an attempt to get at the iwc, but when you're already looking to get mad at the product it's more validating to say vince personally did something to spite you rather than admit it's just a dumb idea you hated

Nice theory, but unless the DC crowd is travelling every week, and/or WWE hands out signs every week, little chance of that being an impact. It has more to do with the hardcore audience at Mania and Raw in Miami, IMHO. The T-Shirts being delayed is a work also IMO... by WWE to actually increase sales... it's like the cabbage patch kids in the 80's... there were tonnes on store shelves not selling, until a news report said they were hard to find... BOOM, crazy rush to the store to find the doll. Bryan is not as over with the casual audience, as the hardcores...

Just want to clarify, i don't think they did the 18 second sqaush to get bryan over. it was by accident, i think though they might have kept him off raw to enhance the thirst for him

From watching Smackdown, I think WWE genuinely likes Daniel Bryan as a heel because he's really good at it, and they don't want to get him over as a baby face. Though, if he wins at Extreme Rules and Sheamus flips out and turns heel, that could be some direction to turn him. But with him being the mental abuser to AJ, they seem to really want to keep him heel.
Though, my hope is to force AJ to say what she yells when they're in bed. Probably some twisted crowd interaction there.

Also because of his size he has a chance to go further as a heel since you know Vince is reluctant to put a smaller guy over clean.

I think Bryan is better as a heel, but I have marked out to the yes chants.
I think the WWE has a certain resentment for the IWC, we are the hardcore fans, and in all honesty we are the ones who complain the most, and loudest about everything. If I was the WWE I prolly wouldn't try to please all of us, because lets be honest, we are impossible to please.

I have a feeling the IWC gets worked by the WWE a lot more than most realize, after all the IWC are by far the easiest fans to work.
