I was wondering if the Freebirds rule applied to Roman Reigns ? Is he considered to be Tag Team Champion ?

No...He's Flair and everyone not named Arn and Tully.
Also...wasn't an official team when Seth and Dean won the tag titles.
Can't just give someone a title unless you're Triple H in 02.

He could use the Freebird Rule with his cousins on SmackDown too and be the first-ever dual Raw/SD tag team champion.
I think Vince’s nipples just got hard.

To counter Deezy's point, Crush was not part of Demolition when they won the tag titles for the 3rd time but was added and allowed to defend the tag titles. On a side note I really hate the Freebird rule, it got to stupid levels when all 5 of the Spirit Squad got to be champions.

Special circumstances....Axe was unable to compete....like Shawn Michaels vacating in 97 and Dude Love stepping in. Or Idk.....maybe rules and rasslin only actually matter when a promoter wants it too.

Bullet Club just decided to do freebird rules with the trio titles won by the Hung Bucks.

It's like Brock can go 30+ days without defending the title, but Naomi gets stripped for not defending within 30 days. Those two things happened like a month apart.

The Bullet Club doing that is a prime example of why I don't like this rule. If at least 1 of the original trio was apart of that match it'd be a little better (only slightly) but that had no of the 3 in it at all. I understand the appeal, you don't know what combination you'll get and each combination can work differently but they take it to a silly degree.

Like the New Day, the rule only applies when two members of an established three man team win the tag team gold. Like the Freebirds did, thus, the "Freebirds' rule. It doesn't work for Roman because Seth and Dean where a team before the SHEILD reunion. Yes I know Seth & Roman were the World Tag Team Champions during the SHIELD's first run, but Dean was already US Champion.
