If Triple H didn't do #31 last year being a heel owner.....Why would this make sense?

Undertaker is my pick, but this year feels like the first time in ages that there's no clear winner.

Not making my official pick until after the go-home shows (and the world holds its breath...), but right now it feels like Taker. Probably leading to Taker/Cena, but the fact that he's not officially a part of either brand gives them another bit of business to play with between now and Mania.

Strowman to be the unstoppable monster for the majority. Is the only one left standing at 29, then Joe to come out no. 30 and toss him over. Cena then to beat Styles and the two wrestle at Mania for the title, playing up the UPW connection.

Based on the fact that the 3 previous Rumble winners were so easy to pick, it's quite refreshing to have so many people who can win it:
Undertaker - Faces AJ for The World Heavyweight Championship Chris Jericho - Faces Kevin Owens for The Universal Championship Brock Lesnar - Faces Goldberg (Who Beats Kevin Owens at Fast Line) for The Universal Championship Goldberg - Faces Roman Reigns for The Universal Championship (It has been teased) but I feel that's unlikely because who faces Brock?
Then the wild card of either Joe or Nakamura make their debut and win it to face AJ. On the True Story Of The Royal Rumble documentary, they made a big deal about Royal Rumble 1st's (And that would be a 1st)
Triple H makes an appearance and costs Seth Rollins.
I think Goldberg eliminates Brock quickly and easily (to continue the storyline of Goldberg dominating Brock) and then Goldberg gets eliminated somehow. then at Fast Line, Goldberg faces Owens for the Title but Brock costs him the Title setting up WrestleMania.
Therefore I see Undertaker winning setting up his final appearance and winning the belt.

I've heard stories of them wanting Braun/Reigns at Mania and Taker/Cena. Taker/Cena doesn't need the title involved to get people to bite but it wouldn't hurt. I feel Braun/Reigns is doomed to fail before it even begins, especially with a Mania crowd. Personally I'd love Jericho to win it so we finally do Owens/Jericho for the Universal title, that match will happen regardless but with so much behind it I feel it's worthy of a top title match instead of the US. Regardless I agree with the bulk of people here when I say it's just nice to go into a rumble with no clear winner this time.

Ok so Finn is not coming back at the Royal Rumble ? Unlikely. His original prognosis was 4 to 6 months, which gave him a slim chance of making the Rumble. However he has since stated it is more likely to be the latter, therefore putting him down for a late February return. All those speculating about him being in the Rumble are either wishful thinking or know something noone else does...

I'd love Miz to win for ultimate rustle from elitist fans who can't get over the fact he was somewhat famous before he got into wrestling, and I think he's been the best overall performer since Summerslam.
But I also want Cena to somehow finagle his way into the match and win it to chase Roman Reigns on Raw.

I know it goes against my own pick above, but I feel like using the strap in a match involving Taker, Brock or Goldberg is a waste. Nobody will be any more or less likely to pay to see any of those guys wrestle because there's a title on the line. I would even put Cena in that category as well, unless they have him win and lose a belt between now and Mania, so he's fighting to break Flair's record.
Then again, maybe with two "world" championships, you can get away with doing this for one of them. But, to me, the "Rumble Winner vs. Champion" singles match should always be the Wrestlemania main event. And we haven't had that since Rock/Cena at WM 29... though I have no problem with Rollins' incredible cash-in at WM 31.

Well he wouldn't be the first to say he won't be cleared and comes back to win the Rumble. It happened with Cena and Edge. I'm not writing it off but I'm not holding my breath either. Also think it'd be a bit of a waste, much like Edge in 2010. The win was great and all but it fell apart leading into Mania when it became clear he probably wasn't ready to come back when he did.

Undertaker. Man recovering from hip surgery being thrown over the rope? When instead he can throw people over and avoid injury. The Iron Sheik clause, must win Battle Royals as can't safely be eliminated
