So I guess we will never see her fight again.
She has been completely exposed as the over rated media creation she had always been. I mean seriously, she didn't even look like she belonged in that ring with Nunes tonight. It was like watching somebody punch a kid in the face over and over again.
"Best female MMA fighter in the world", my ass. Ronda Rousey is a complete phony.

She had a simple way of beating people and people trained to beat that, which they have done. Even Nunes said she had been training to beat Rousey for ages. Same with Holly Holms. In all honesty Rousey probably would have been better off not coming back and going a different route, maybe more into acting or transition into wrestling.

LMFAO "overrated"?
Get outta here with that bullshit.....The competition just finally caught up to her. Her rudimentary striking skills and terrible coaching didn't do her favours when the company finally brought in more women.
It's such bullshit to pretend that this woman was just a media creation.
She is the reason we even have women in the UFC..... Respect.
She brought in an entirely new fanbase and also brought in attention when the Connor McGregors of the world were still slumming it.
She is still the most famous female fighter on the planet and will always be for the foreseeable future.

True she was the face of that Division and brought a lot of attention to it however she was also well paid and got a lot of money and Media attention from it as we as Movie roles, which she was all happy to take (As it was her right to)
It can also be argued that her opponents weren't of a particularly high standard. Other than Miesha Tate, I'm pretty sure (Correct me if I'm wrong) none of her other opponents have never main or co-main evented a UFC show since facing Roussy.

Every woman who she faced in the octagon were highly regarded.
Sara mcmann, Cat Zingano, Bethe Correira could be champions anywhere.
People who like wmma better hope this doesn't go like BJ Penn and have a division lost because the one person anyone cares about is gone.

I think the quality of female B/W's getting much higher now and tbh Correira's defeat looks worse now in hindsight.
You could say that any division could be lost whenever a star has gone. You could say that for the Featherweight Division now that Connor's gone.
UFC need to get the hype machine out though and create more stars however and not hope that someone is good at talking or just runs through the opposition quickly as there are many deserving talented fighters that need the help to get them to superstar level and not rely on a couple

Stars are born, not made.
It's just like anything that promotes individual people as draws. There's no recipe for making stars, you have to find them and they're pretty impossible to find, if they could. They would mass produce that like it's going out of style.

at one point Ronda was the best female fighter in the world. But times changed and she no longer is. The fact that she isn't the best now doesn't take away from the fact that at one point she was.
Somebody compared her to Tito Ortiz which I thought was an apt comparison. Great at one point, dominated a division, but then everybody caught up to them and they didn't look so great all of a sudden.

I didn't know what the game plan was from Edmund & Ronda, but having Ronda block every hit with her face was just weird!

It's not like Ronda hasn't done that before. Walk through 2-3 punches to get to the clinch. But in her last two fights she fought people who hit pretty damn hard and she couldn't just stroll through them.

I agree that she's done. She can't perform at the top top level anymore, and she doesn't need to anymore either. It all points to her exploring other avenues in 2017.
