Will the show before the show end up being THE show of the weekend? (Disclaimer: I'm a few weeks behind on NXT, but I think the LAW has me pretty much up to date)
Shinsuke Nakamura d. Samoa Joe: Without getting too deep into "fantasy booking" territory, I'm hoping Joe loses and starts his road to the Royal Rumble.
Asuka d. Mickie James: Bringing back Mickie James is definitely a better idea than rushing an opponent from the roster who isn't ready (or rushing the Akusa/Ember Moon program), but I think we all know what this match is.
Bobby Roode d. Tye Dillinger: Roode is hopefully the next contender for Nakamura and - while I hope better days are ahead for the Perfect 10 - beating Tye Dillinger seems to be the first step toward the main event these days.
The Authors of Pain d. TM-61: If the AoP lose now, then I'm not sure what the point of their push has been.
DIY d. The Revival: Time for the Revival to move on up to the main roster.
I'd imagine that the two tag matches will be setting up the next title program, so I'm guessing that I'll either nail both of these picks or neither of them.

Again nothing more to add to that, though I don't necessarily think Roode winning is a lock. He could take the hit of the loss and not lose any momentum imo while the "w" would really benefit Tye.

Got to agree with Kalgoroth, don't think Tye has had that big win yet and this could be it. Roode would be fine after a lose.

Meant to also say that I think people might be misconstruing Roode's role in NXT. I don't necessarily think he is being primed for a main roster role, he was likely primarily brought in esentially as a well-known enhancement talent, for people such as Tye. Then he got the music and entrance and all of a sudden expectations were raised. Perhaps the plan has changed but I still suspect he was initially meant to be doing the job for the Perfect 10.

I think a counter point would be that Roode is a lot of people's choice for Nakamura's next challenger. There's not a lot of other heels who could fill that role right now. I don't see them doing Nakamura/Joe for a third time, if anyone is getting called up to main it'll be Joe after this match.

It wouldn't be beyond the WWE's skewed logic though to have him lose but then make him the no.1 contender...!

For WWE I agree but NXT are pretty good at protecting those they plan to put in title matches.

Asuka is built up so much, nobody on the current NXT roster beating her would-be met with anything but resentment.
Sher coming to the main roster should be her just vacating and start her undefeated monster push on Raw and have Charlotte do everything in her power to not get that match until Summerslam.

got the same picks as you. Really hope the loser of Joe/Nakamura gets the call up to the main roster for the Rumble.
Authors of Pain verses TM61 is the finals of the Dusty Rhodes Classic. SMH. TM61 hasn't shown 1/5th of what they were in Japan.

I'm surprised that tickets haven't sold out, Aren't Takeover shows meant to be really popular?

NXT ticket sales around the horn have been down from what they were at the beginning of the year. Hell, two shows in the Australia/New Zealand show got cancelled. I'm assuming because of low ticket sales.
Didn't see that main event result coming. Nakamura to the main roster PLEASE! The tag title match was fantastic.

I'm surprised as well, really didn't see Joe winning it back. Wonder where they go from here. Who's the next challenger? Will Nakamura go to the main roster? Will they now do a third between them, which I guess you could do.

I think Nakamura stays and there's a long chase towards the third match with Joe. There's just very little to choose in the way of babyfaces in NXT right now.

A friend of mine suggested Nakamura wins it back in Australasia to set up him v Roode in a battle of the theme songs...
Seriously though, I really can't see them doing Joe v Roode in NXT. Especially since they are both best as heels.

Also, did anyone else think the high spot off the shark cage structure came waaaay too early in the match? Yes that match needed something as blatantly noone cared but to me it indicated that more was to come, when it didn't! Also, why have Ellering suspended in the cage if that was to have no bearing on the match? Didn't get the point of the chain at all. If you're going to introduce it have it play a part in the finish...
