It seems that Billy Corgan really wants to own TNA, I really have to ask why? He seems like a man who doesn't part with money without a reason, other than the tape library (Which is probably only valuable to WWE) I don't see what he gains from it, unless he has a much better TV deal lined up

If Corgan had a better TV connection lined up, he probably would've been better off starting his own promotion from scratch rather than picking up all of TNA's garbage. I still don't understand why anyone would want to own it, especially considering the $3.4 million in debt Meltzer's reported and the tax lien to the state.
Considering Jarrett's GFW hasn't gotten off the ground, I don't see how a new promotion would get a TV deal. TNA may finally die at the end of the year.

I'm guessing Corgan wants to keep that production crew together.
That's the only thing I would want from TNA tbh.

The only things Tna have of any real value are the tv deal and possibly the tape library - though ive read that Dixie may have already sold some of that off...

I don't think their tv deal is worth anything since they are paying for it.

Corgan has always wanted to have run a wrestling promotion. He tried his own a few years back with Resistance Pro but that failed. My thinking is that Corgan wants to get TNA because it already has a TV deal/past that he can run off.

I saw Mr. Meltzer speculate that if TNA files for Chapter 11, Fight Network may have an early shot at the tape library because they're a creditor.
Am I saying that John and Wai could then parlay the tape library and cut a deal with Vince for cash and access to the darker recesses of the WWE library, launching Review-A-Wai into the rarified air of retro wrestling podcasts? I'm not just saying it - I'm guaranteeing it.

I read a parent company of the Fight Network (Anthem Sports & Entertainment) already got part of the tape library in exchange for paying for some of the latest tapings. Seems like Anthem and another related company have a growing minority ownership in TNA. I'm not sure why anyone would want to be sinking funds into them.

Because Corgan has millions of dollars, is a wrestling mark and can afford to not give a fuck and have fun. Once you've entered Courtney Love there's really very little that could be worse. TNA is a walk in the park compared.

That guy who won the powerball and used it to start Wrestlicious was made broke because of one season .
Corgan should give a fuck and not be in it "for fun".

Meltzer said a few days ago that The Fight Network's parent comapany will pay off Billy Corgan what he is owed. After that, Corgan is probably gone from TNA. The Fight Network people will then own TNA (including their tape library). If that happens, then it looks like Dixie Carter will retain control.
That is why Billy Corgan filed a lawsuit against TNA. Corgan thought he was going to buy TNA, but it looks like Dixie was doing everything possible to sell the company only to somebody who would let her stay in charge.

Pro Wrestling Sheet has learned Billy Corgan has lost his fight against TNA Wrestling for control of the company, but the war isn’t over … this according to recently filed documents.
The judge ruled Monday saying Billy was unable to prove the company had become insolvent and the pledge agreement he made with TNA was not enforceable under Tennessee law.
However, the lawsuit will continue on. And if Billy is able to present more evidence moving forward, the outcome of the lawsuit could change in his favor.
The court also ruled saying Dixie keeping Billy out of the loop on discussions with WWEdoesn’t necessarily mean she breached their contract — explaining, “The parties have submitted competing and disputed versions of these facts such that the proof is not clear.”
Billy released a statement saying, “For those asking, I’m in no way disappointed in the judges ruling regarding TNA. Rather, I’m grateful the judge considered the case. It’s important to note is these proceedings have brought forth facts which illuminate business practices I have fought against for a reason. And I suggest that a careful reading on the judge’s ruling supports there can be no claim of victory by anyone in a position of authority.”

Appropriate this happened on Halloween, given the way TNA keeps on coming back from the dead and continually limping aimlessly along like a zombie waiting for someone to hack it's head off...

Note to Corgan: Just start your own promotion. The TNA name is severely damaged He did, no? Resistance Pro out of Chicago. Even got an AMC reality show greenlit off the back of it, if I recall correctly. Haven't seen much of it (like, 2 seconds of Youtube footage) but have been told by its followers that Corgan's wrestling philosophy would be quite consistent with that of Vince Russo. Anyways, hearsay aside, I've long since come to terms with the fact that, despite fervent reports of its imminent demise, TNA will outlive creation itself.
