Right? After biting on several false finishes, my first thought after Ziggler went over was "of course he isn't losing his career at No Mercy!" Also, more often than not, a World Title match anywhere except for the main event is code for Schmozz City. As for my picks, 4-for-6 if you throw out the Becky/Alexa changeup. Missed on the tag titles as per usual and had Carmella over Nikki, which felt dumb as soon as I saw the pre-match buildup. I think I just feel a bit of an idiot for falling into the trap of believing internet rumours to be from any source other than the WWE themselves. The fact there was a 'leak' of TV listings should have been a telltale sign... I don't think anyone should feel like an idiot for buying into a match.....I would consider that a breath of fresh air, it's almost like just being a fan again.

Just watched the Styles/Ambrose/Cena triple threat again. Like I said before, a World Title match anywhere except the main event seems to be an indicator that we could be headed to Schmozz City. But regarding the actual finish... I'll start by saying that I'm 100 percent OK with nobody taking chair shots to the head anymore. But with all that we've seen as fans, are we supposed to buy that a chair shot to the back is going to floor John Cena for a three count? I'm sure a chair shot to the back hurts like hell, but as far as knocking a guy out, it's probably less effective than the average kick to the head (not that I'm volunteering to take either bump... closest I've come to doing a flatback bump involved whiskey and an icy sidewalk). Dude, a chairshot into the back can kayfabe knock the wind out of you enough to not be able to move for a 3 count, much like a powerbomb or slam.

I think the problem with Cena losing to a chair shot to the back is that he's held as a guy who is seemingly unbeatable and when he is beat it takes a ton more then most. He's also a guy we've seen take insane bumps over the past 10 years and come out a winner. Besides that it's a believable finish I think, it's not like they had been using weapons since the beginning, it was one spot and it ended the match. Good use of a chair shot in my view.

I think you guys are probably right but, to me, seeing a chair shot to the back is like hearing a wrestler say something like "kick your butt" or seeing a medic stop a bloody nose in the middle of the match. It all immediately makes me think "TV-PG" and takes me out of the match. In the grand scheme, I have no problem with TV-PG whatsoever, but there are some things that need to be left behind, and I feel like the "chair shot as finish" spot is one of them. That same chair shot followed by a Styles Clash and pinfall is 100 percent better in my eyes (and yes, I see the irony that the Styles Clash is considerably more dangerous than a chair shot). A small gripe at the end of the day... I'd take a million "chair shot to the back" finishes if I didn't have to hear three more months of the fraudulent "30th Anniversary of the Royal Rumble" claim.

I don't think the rating plays much part into the chair shots being aimed at the back and it's more the concussion awareness that made that change.
