So, a presale started today for NXT Takeover Toronto for people who previously ordered tickets to the cancelled live events (I had a ticket for the Toronto event at Mattamy Athletic Centre). However, I'm sure there were people who didn't have tickets that found out about the (very easy to figure out) password.
There's obviously a very high demand for tickets to this event, since Ticketmaster was very slow and it took me over half an hour to reserve a ticket at a price comparable to what I paid for the live event, that being the lowest price of $25. However, when I went to check out the tickets, in true Ticketmaster fashion, $21.75 in service charges was added to the ticket, resulting in the final price of $46.75. Since, this was way more than the $31.25 I paid for the live event ticket (and the fact that I already have a ticket for Survivor Series the next night), I decided to cancel the order and save myself the money.
I really wish WWE could have handled this change in events better, since I was quite stoked to see NXT Live before the event tomorrow was canceled in favour of Takeover.

Well, if you end up completely ditching the weekend let me know. I have tickets for TakeOver and would love some reasonably priced Survivor Series tickets (super overpriced on StubHub).

I really wish WWE could have handled this change in events better, since I was quite stoked to see NXT Live before the event tomorrow was canceled in favour of Takeover. They could have done this better with more effort, but they were lazy. Example: Pearl Jam gives priority concert access to paying members of its Fan Club, by lottery - you enter the lottery and either win pre-sale tickets or you don't (in which case you can still try the public onsale). Earlier this summer they played two shows at Fenway Park in Boston which were highly sought after. Lots of fans were shut out of the lottery (they only get so many tickets to sell this way). About a week before the shows the band e-mailed fan club members to say that they'd received an additional batch of tickets to sell to fan club members, but to be fair, they were going to send a unique pre-sale code to every fan who had entered the lottery the first time around and was not selected for tickets (which included me). The password I got was 10 or 12 characters long and a jumble of letters and numbers - not something as simple as WWENXT which is the password for basically EVERY NXT pre-sale. They could have done something like that for ticket buyers of the cancelled house shows, but it was probably too much effort. I also had 2nd row ringside for the Mattamy show and after 1/2 hour finally was able to get decent enough seats (knowing that there would be the usual Ticketmaster surcharges, taxes, "delivery fee" which is hilarious for tickets you print at home), etc. But it was definitely annoying.

some of the service fees get waived if you go to an actual box office and get physical tickets. Not sure how much, but some.
never heard of $21 in service charges before. I think $14 is the most I have ever seen before for tickets I have purchased, and around $8-$10 is average I would say. Wouldn't surprize me at all if they add more for events in Toronto than they do for ones in Saskatchewan.
