It's just 10 days away from the WWE's "Brand Extension" draft on July 19th. It's kind of tricky 6 days before Battleground. Let's pretend Steph and Shane are the C.O.O.'s for seperate brands. What if Shane drafts Dean Ambrose for Smackdown and he currently has the WWE title but loses it at Battleground to Seth Rollins who is drafted by Stephanie 6 days prior. Smackdown is left without a WWE champ. So it's a gamble to draft any of the Shield members 6 days prior to Battleground.
We still don't have any details as to how the draft itself is going to be structured. Will it be a random draft lottery like in the past?... Where the "C.O.O's" don't select wrestlers in a specific order. Taking turns etc.... Will the COO's do a standard draft order type draft. That one is kind of tricky because certain talents are going to be drafted lower than others and then there's the issue of tag teams. Do they get picked seperately? I really do not want to see tag teams split up. Let's pretend that Steph and Shane are the C.O.O.'s. What's to stop Steph from drafting Kofi after Shane just selected Big E?.... What becomes of the tag titles if these two are on seperate brands?
That's why, I propose that the WWE institute draft pools for the wrestlers on the draft. What they could do is have seperate drafting pools. Tag team pool, women's pool, men's pool etc
Here is how the tag team draft pool can work. The wrestlers have the option themselves if they want to be in the singles draft or tag draft. So if say Bubba Ray and Devon want to split up. Rather than being split up by the draft, Have them decide if they want to remain a tag team in the draft pool. Same thing for performers like Kalisto and Sin Cara, The Usos, Enzo and Cass etc...... Obviously Enzo and Cass are loyal to each other and would want to be in the tag team draft. Same goes for New Day and The Club.
If it were up to me, Each brand would have 3 titles.
Raw- A new world title, the tag title division and The US title.
Smackdown- The WWE title, IC Title and Women's title division.
Raw is 3 hours every week so I would put all the tag teams on that brand. By giving Smackdown the WWE title, You give that brand instant credibility and make it appear that it isn't the B show.
Ideally if a new World title is introduced. You go with a tournament with the finals culminating at SummerSlam. Perhaps an AJ Styles vs John Cena final for the new World Title.
