I completely give up on the brass at WWE knowing how to make money. The show starts with a video package of how Cena is a loser, then we get the announcement of the match, then we get the staredown, then they build to a main event with David Otunga? Who cares. They couldn't have made the announcement of Brock's first match look less like a big deal. It's bad enough they're rushing this thing, but why not build some confrontation and let one of the wrestlers challenge the other one. Whatever. WWE had potential with a big audience tuning in to see Brock tonight, but they were given no incentive to watch the show past the first 15 minutes except the Three Stooges (who, I must admit were awesome.) The only thing that makes this show stick out was the very un-PG bodily fluids caused by a stiff shot to Cena's mouth.

If I wasn't so used to the WWE fumbling great angles, I would be in disbelief as to how they managed to drop the quality of their product so drastically in one week. Unfortunately, this is part and parcel, so I really should have expected it.
I defy claims made that last week was all about the crowd; the crowd were a key element, yes, but every segment was a winner and overall, it was a tremendous episode of RAW. This week, however, we had one fun segment with Cena & Brock and the rest of the show was a slow mess. Nothing excited me. Punk vs. Jericho has basically run its course at this point - I mean, I think we get the point by now. Big Show went Inception on us and ruined another segment. Ryder & Del Rio was meaningless and Cena & Otunga was boring. Is this the creative department showing no effort because they weren't invited to the Wrestlemania after-party? If that was the case, I suppose I could excuse it, but otherwise, the entire company should feel embarrassed after tonight's show. Here's hoping the crowd is awake for some nostalgia tomorrow - I'm looking forward to it.

I'm a 40 year wrestling fan, yes wrestling fan Not a sports entertainment fan. Tonight RAW Sadly like the past few Has me turning away more than once during the broadcast. Those times are whenever Super Dave General manager Johnny L appears on screen. I never conceived there was someone more annoying than Cole Yet they found him & shoved him down our throats as onair talent. The man has all the heat of an igloo cooler and is about as stiff as a plank on screen It's either turn away or start Elvising my T.V.'s When he's on

A bloody mouth and a kick in the nuts for Cena. Win win in my books. Thanks to big Johnny. For doing what needed to be done. Long live Lauranitis. Oh and the rest of the show was pretty good.

The opening fight with Lesner and Cena got me so pumped up and the rest of their work tonight was spot on. Great work by these two to push the Extreme Rules PPV. I love CM Punk but he has gotten a little stale and Jericho has stepped up his game and you can hear from some of the crowd. What the hell is Mark Henry talking about? Is it the WWE Championship from Punk he wants or the World Heavyweight Championship like he said. Also OMG that sorry excuse for the three stooges just made me shake my head in disgust. A lot of lame stuff tonight so Overall it was a below average Raw. 2 out of 5

Raw was good tonight. I missed the opening segment, sadly but the rest of the show was fine. The tag match with Broadus was good. It looks as if there are no plans for Dolph, unfortunately but oh well. The Stooges segments were fun thus I wasn't bothered. At least it sorta helped build Kane as a monster. and they mocked the competition. The Rhodes/show stuff was fine and it builds to a match at the PPV. Poor Lord Tensai. No one cared about his match. A fine squash nonetheless. The Brock promo backstage was awesome, and the best on of his wrestling career. The fact he mentioned UFC helped. The ending segment was good, but I believe that they're going to the Cena/Brock match way too early just for some extra buys. Why not save it for Summerslam and have it gain momentum and curiosity? It could be built better and do even better business. I'm excited either way. Overall a good show. 7/10. Loving the new board!

First off, the Three Stooges stuff was utter product-placement crap. Wrestling fans don't care about stupid tie-ins like this. However, Will Sasso was the f'ing MAN tonight. I hated everything else involving the Stooges, but the "Hulkster" entrance and promo was pretty entertaining. I remember the night that Bret Hart invaded Mad TV and assaulted Sasso, and I know he's a legit wrestling fan. He was probably thrilled to take a Kane chokeslam tonight, and more power to him. However, it doesn't excuse the corny bullshit we were subjected to tonight. The Muppets I can accept; The Stooges I can't abide.
The opening segment with Brock and Cena was only "good" because of the visual of Cena sporting a bloody mouth. That visual cost us a brawl pull-apart that lumped the likes of Punk, Sheamus, Henry and Danielson with two dozen jobbers. Wrestling is built upon unique characters and their various motivations, and when loner-type guys like Punk and Henry are out there it makes NOBODY unique. Why should Punk care about Cena's beef with Lesnar? Also, Lesnar shouldn't have said a word this week, not ONE. WORD. I could come up with a dozen different ways to use Lesnar this week that was better than this. Once again WWE put the cart before the horse.
Everything that happened tonight, from the awkward KO finish in the Lord Tensai (aka AAAAALBEEEERT) match to David motherfucking Otunga main eventing against Cena, was a huge disappointment. Is it too much to ask for WWE to think like a fan? Like someone who actually ENJOYS wrestling? To recognize what's hot, what's good, and what's worth emotionally investing in? Of course it is. I expected an EPILOGUE to last week's masterpiece and instead I got a wooden, half-assed EPISODE. This week wasn't quite the drizzling shits... it was more like a case of constipated crap that didn't know when it was supposed to shit or get off the pot. Something magical happened last week and Vince McMahon killed it quicker than a Chavo/Kane 'Mania match.
If WWE spent half as much effort BUILDING heat as it did squashing it they'd have two or three new mega-stars by now. As tonight's RAW proved, we're in for more of the same. I genuinely hope that the Chicago crowd at Extreme Rules re-claims the YES! chants and that WWE realizes that guys like Daniel Bryan are the future of this company.
So say we all.

The brawl at the beginning was a great start to this Cena/Lesnar feud but when I heard that they were going to have a match at Extreme Rules I was befuddled. Why are they having a match this soon? Unless Cena gets destroyed to a point where he's off tv for months I don't think this Brock buzz will last. I mean so far John Cena is still joking around and smiling even after getting punked last week and getting a bloodly fat lip. These are not the actions of a man who is having the worst two weeks of his life. The Three Stooges skits were mercifully short and no Divas match tonight. Overall a decent show but lacked the YES! chants and Daniel Bryan. Bryan is over but let's keep him off tv so he gets the Funkasaurus pop.

This was a hot start to Raw, few words and a stiff shot bloodying Cena's lip. The problem with the show tonight is what happened after. Santino and the Stooges were overused. Will Sasso's impression of Hogan felt like Vince taking a shot at another company, this after WWE had Flair appear at their Hall of Fame. Be A Star, Vince. During Swagger and Ziggler's match, we got the weekly Vickie compliments and jokes, Cole admiring Swagger's nifty haircut and Lawler's joke about reptile disfunction. Big Show is annoying already, showing Cody videos of last week's material. Tensai yells Ichiban when he slams Tatsu, a real Japanese battle cry. Finally, Punk and Jericho has lost me with the alcoholism angle. Did you notice Johnny's white Brother Love Wrestlemania suit with an April 1, 2012 plaque? Overall, a 5 out of 10, having 10 minutes of Brock doesn't save this Raw.

Hey, guys, thanks for the easy feedback forum. Unfortunately, now that it's available, my first post is about how I don't have much of an opinion about this episode of Raw. I did really like the pull-apart brawl in the opening segment, though I'm not sure about getting Johnny Ace involved in the Cena/Lesnar storyline. I was hoping they would blur the corporate lines with Brock and make him seem like less of a hired employee and more of a force of nature (if that makes any sense). Also, someone please tell Cena to stop smirking at everything and at least pretend to take his fights seriously. At least we got to play "spot the mid-carder/NXT star/former-wrestler-turned-backstage-guy-in-a-suit" while all this was going on.
Almost everything else on the show was just whatever. It seemed like most of the storylines remained stationary, which I guess is fine for now, but if they want to build to Extreme Rules, I think they need to start throwing out some reasons for guys to be in whatever their respective gimmick matches will be. A falls count anywhere match between guys who can't keep their fight in the ring is better than a falls count anywhere match just for the hell of it.
Also, let's hope that Will Sasso doesn't come back to challenge Kane like he did with Bret Hart in WCW.

that episode of raw sucked.
wwe tries whatever they can to get the crowd behind the cena gimmick. there are enough kids and girls in the crowd that love him. but wrestling fans. i don't think so.
punk & jericho promo was funny. jericho is so evil when he gives us the heel character. looking forward to see an amazing wrestling match at next ppv. anyone knows their stipulation already?
wtf. main-event lesnar vs. cena. i don't want to see lesnar. neither in a match. nor in a promo. i was happy when he left, as wrestling wasn't good enough for him. they (brock and cena) can't do anything in the ring, as both just know 5 moves. maybe they could do a fistfight in the octagon. but not a wrestling match that i want to see.
maybe the danielson hype is gone a lil bit. awesome in-ring abilities. he could be a total badass heel if u ask me.
stooges-promo was horrible. does wwe wanna turn kane face again, cause he saved us from that crap.

Hey guys first time reviewing:
-Strong opening segment which was highlighted be every Internet fans dream in busting Cena open -Glad to see Brodus be given some type of program but not a fan of it coming at the expense of Dolph - Missed the Rhodes vs truth match cause of jays game - Lord Tensai was really boring and the match seemed to dragged even though it was a short squash and it seems this guy will never get over due to his old gimmicks - The punk promo was great as it showed the passion this guy has for the business, Jericho was also great as the dick heel. During the beer bash I loved how every time it would get near punks mouth he would move around and wipe his mouth which just proves his legitimacy towards being straight edge - Ryder is done and never gets a pop anymore - The 3 stooges were horrible but the best part was when Cole said did he loose wait in referring to hogan - Good ending to help solidify Brock is a Heel
Decent show 6.5/10

Seriously, I can't stress enough how important it is for YES! to remain over. The crowd may have sucked tonight, but DBD's heat is starting to transcend "televised" influence. People are getting behind this because it's real and fans want to see good wrestling in their World Wrestling[/i] Entertainment.

The opening segment reminded me of UFC 100 for some reason. Brock must have mistook Cena for Frank Mir. The only thing missing was Mike Goldberg exclaiming,"It's all over!"
Anyway, the show tonight was utterly destroyed by the Crowd. I understand the segments were really nothing special but not even Brock received a loud pop.The returns of stars Lesnar, Undertaker and the Rock have been like a shot of adrenaline injected into the body. But eventually the rush you get from the adrenaline wears off and you come crashing back down.
The WWE needs to realize that while the return of stars from previous eras will spike those Wrestlemania buys or that Raw rating for a couple of weeks;what harm is being done to the up and coming talent? For instance, take Dolph Ziggler. I know he's an excellent worker and athlete but how is a fan supposed to become emotionally invested in his character when he's booked on TV to look like a jobber losing clean to Santino?
Back in the mid to late 90's the WWE let the young guys grow and they built new stars like HBK,Bret Hart,Rock,Stone Cold,etc....... The WWE today is sort of doing what WCW was doing in the 90's. Bringing in big names to get a big rating while not developing new talent.
Anyway, thanks John and Wai for all your hard work and looking forward to review a Wai.
