I thought the Owens/Balor match was fairly dull, to be honest. They wrestled the WWE-style, which to me just isn't up to snuff with what Owens was doing in ROH and Balor in NJPW. I would call what they did here a very safe style. Probably better for their long-term health but not very entertaining given the occasion.
I thought the most entertaining match was Kofi jobbing to Lesnar. It was what the audience wanted and they gave it to us.
I was also surprised at how early in the card it was though. I would have put it last but I guess they didn't want a job match going last. To be fair, that would have been a little weird, but I still wouldn't have had it on so early. Lesnar is a main eventer and waiting to see him, even in a squash match, keeps fans in a good mood.

No they didn't wrestle WWE style, but if there were powerbombs I didn't remember them. I don't expect them to go all out for a glorified house show. The main event sure didn't.
I never thought Finn was anything special outside of the gimmick, but now I know he's Prince Devitt. I've only seen Finn wrestle twice and all the theatrics just turns me off, but my kid loves it.
It was weird seeing Y2J against Nevelle. Y@J is just so huge body wise and the NXT youngerlings are chizzled without the WWE body. It'll be interesting to see if Finn and Nevell pack on the muscle bulk.
When I watched Finn's title its the biggest, most monumental title win this year. It was like Wrestlemania in front of 1/6th the people.
Brock did what he wanted. Its amazing to see that sort of strength. Mark Henry missed the boat on using suplexes.

Real stars want to leave the building early at house shows. That's the reason why Hogan would do the middle match and the vanilla tag teams would mainevent.
Brock being old school, work a sweat and then go see Masa Saito like he wanted to.

Mark Henry's is a powerlifter which means his strength comes nainly from his legs, Brock being a wrestler is mainly core....which is why he can pop suplexes like crazy.

Mark's core is a Buick. So if its leg strength he should be using the body scissors and not a bear hug?

Leg scissors are not exactly manly.....was the Goldeneye baddie Famke Jannsens go to move.
Edit: I remember this British bodybuilder trying to use the leg scissors as a finisher in Jummy Harts XWF and it looked gay an the supposedly family friendly crowd didn't take kindly to it.

No they didn't wrestle WWE style Well, whatever you want to call it, it wasn't the ROH or NJPW style. Very slow paced with lots of rest holds. It was still a decent match but it didn't blow me away. And yeah this was just a house show but it somehow felt more special to me, so I was expecting more.

Only spotmonkies call submissions "restholds". Nothing bothers me more than that goofy labelling.
You don't slap on a chin lock when you need a breather, you go outsider the ring, also those so called restholds are not when most people call spots because that's where "smart" fans are looking for it, it's done on Irish whips and when they're in the corner.

Legs are where the penis is. I learned that when I became a man with that chicken head.
I still think the show is special, I just won't rush to watch it again outside of 3 matches. To the show's credit 3 matches were watchable out of a 5 match show.
There was a rest hold in the Finn match yes. I give you that. I just thought it was a Japanese thing like they can withstand watching a 10 minute chin lock. The main event had 20 minutes of chin locks. It was also out of place seeing Cena + Brazzers and Kane + Barrett. No chemistry for either team.
I consider rest holds to be when there's no drama or psychology. Drama like a finisher or psychology like Jericho is working on the guys back using bow and arrows,, Boston crabs building up to the Walls. Jericho didn't work on Nevell's neck the entire match and won with the Lion tamer. He did use a generic Boston Crab at some point, but I think the Lion Tamer is more a neck twist than a back twist like the Boston crab.

I consider rest holds to be when there's no drama or psychology. Excellent. Just to be clear, I have no problem with rest holds, everyone needs a breather; what I didn't like was that the match didn't really have any drama. The most memorable thing from Owens/Balor was that Balor won the title. But technically that happened after the match was over so… It's like Brock/Taker. Very memorable for the finish, not because of the finish itself but because of the outcome. Doesn't mean it was a great match. And they were resting during the rest holds deezy . This is why they are called rest holds. There was a lazy chin-lock applied at one point without any drama, which is what ultimately irked me. There was also another part in the match where both guys were on their backs and the referee started his 10 count. But I suppose that was also a spot where they weren't catching their breath, correct?

Laying on the mat is now "taking a breath"? And here I thought it was called selling and milking the crowd.

I didn't even realize it was supposed to be someone famous, but looking at the forum, it has Gina Carano and Ronda Rousey.
