....He had only killed himself and not his family?
Seeing the Junior Seau coverage today is what made me think of this.
Would we have seen him in the Hall of Fame? and in WWE Video packages?

Yes it would. I don't know about the HOF, but I think the video packages would be more likely. There is surely a difference between suicide and the murder of innocents. I still wouldn't know what to think, though.

Yes, if Chris Benoit just killed himself; he wouldn't be edited out of WWE history, and it's possible he would be in the HOF.
Killing your wife and child is on a whole different level than just killing yourself.

His death certainly wouldn't be considered pro wrestling's darkest hour had he just killed himself. There are a number of pro wrestlers who have committed suicide and are remembered for the good times.
I don't think it would have been a 2008 HOF induction but he'd be in there eventually in all likelihood and WWE wouldn't have freaked out and tried to delete his existence from their web archives.

Absolutely. Had he just comitted suicide, he'd be remembered as an all-time great who couldn't beat his personal demons. He'd probably be inducted into the Hall Of Fame, and even included in WWE DVDs/Video Games.
But when he killed his wife and especially that little boy, he erased any chance of him being remembered fondly by the Fed. I don't agree with 99% of Vince's revisionist history, but I support him whole-heartedly for erasing Chris Benoit from the history books.

Does anyone look back on Kerry Von Erich as a monster?
Infact... the Von Erich family is in the HOF.

Well Said Nate, To this day I still have trouble watching his matches I personally will never be able to split his personal life and his life as wrestler, If he just took his own life then things may have been different but killing your son I just can't get past that.

Nate got it right. I have no idea what I would do if I were the WWE.
I don't have a problem seeing one of his matches. If I'm watching old PPVs and he shows up, I don't really care. But I'm not going out of my way to see him either. I don't know how they're doing it now, with their on demand services and such. If someone wants to see WM XX, I suppose they have to leave it up like it is. But going out of their way to show him on TV or put him in the HOF is simply crazy to think.

and the person who posted this retarded topic while we are at it. Why? The topic is actually an interesting talking point. Getting back on the topic, absolutely the perception would change, in fact I think there would be far far more blaming of the business that way actually. That said I don't blame WWE in the slightest for them erasing him from history. You can give forth all the arguements about his brain and state of mind, until anyone knows absolutely a 100% that he was not in control of his actions, its just safe for WWE to pretend he doesn't exist.
