Another one, coming from the BBC, gives an account of the golden age of British pro-wrestling. When Wrestling Was Golden: Grapples, Grunts and Grannies: www.youtube.com/watch?v=ILQmWal2Dus

I saw a few on Netflix. That GLOW documentary was good. It had a theme. The Moolah documentary I think it was is just dull and dry. Pointless. Like a true documentary. I agree, I saw the GLOW one, brought back some fond memories but also some sad ones, Sad to see how few of those girls made it to the "big time" and how the bigger ladies are now both suffering so much and left ignored. The owner of the company could have made a lot of money he had it all working for him but just lost interest.

I never saw Glow ever. It was still interesting. If someone loses interest in a company that's what managers are for. McDonald didn't want to run every store so he hired people to do it for him.

I never saw Glow ever. It was still interesting. If someone loses interest in a company that's what managers are for. McDonald didn't want to run every store so he hired people to do it for him. Problewm was Pia Zadora, she was jealous. Glow was succeeding despite the fact most of these girls were NOT wrestlers to begin with, they went with the kookie gimmicks like zombie girl etc, and yes it was uber corny to watch but it was so over the top thats what made it fun. And yes, as time went on teh girls actually learned to wrestle and became quite good. The owner was a Las Vegas man so they had a venue garanteed, and it was said to be making money and they had a TV deal laid out once more to generate more revenue. A reboot was attempted a few years back if I am not mistake but it never got off the ground. I watched GLOW in the wee hours of the morning when it was run for a time as a Paid Advertisement, then it moved to a local station at 4am in the morning and I use to love it. It's a shame it went away because it did bring back a lot fo fond "character days" of wrestling which I sometimes sadly miss.

Proof that people of the 80s are idiots or people just want to see women wrestle.

What are some good wrestling documentaries? Obviously Beyond the Mat, Wrestling with Shadows, and Wrestling Road Diaries, but what are some others? I'm also looking for a documentary that I saw on tv a long time ago (I'd say 6-8 years ago). It was a one hour show documentary on the Manitoba Death Tour. Does anyone know the name of it or where I could find it? (online or on dvd) I think the "death tour" doc aired on 16x9 in Canada. I recall it too, I think it was from 2008 or 2009. Can't find anything online about it anymore.

I wanted to watch the women wrestle, the corny gimmicks were still a thing in the 80's so not so much a leap away from WWF product really, just it had ladies. I don't think they were "idiots" (and if you were referring to me well) in the 80's that's what wrestling was, cookie cutter gimmicks and 3 moves per wrestler was about the limit.

I just watched the GLOW documentary on Netflix and really enjoyed it.
As someone who'd heard about the promotion but knew nowt about it, I found it interesting seeing it all with fresh eyes.
Highly recommend it for those that haven't seen it and I can't wait to get started on the series now.
And deezy - I agree about Little Egypt!

Definitely a documentary on how NOT to produce a wrestling based movie, LOL. The Wrestler this was not.
