Not surprising. Team REEM may have been confident he'd get licensed but as guys like Meltzer have been pointing out for weeks, there would be a lot of problems for the UFC if he was licensed and if he won.

The right call. Werdum vs Cain then? @frontrowbrian (Twitter scoops guy) is in ATL and has said Cain vs Bigfoot is in the works, which I guess opens another spot up for someone to fight Roy. If anything, I guess this preemptive measure is Zuffa making the best of an atrocious scenario....one of their biggest PPVs of the year is coming up and the perfect time to launch the new promotional push for JDS vs Mir and spread awareness.

I'm curious to see how they'll discuss it on the broadcast tomorrow. Do they go ahead and mention the testosterone failure on TV?
I actually feel Mir vs. JDS could do bigger numbers if all hype goes well.

If Overeem does go ahead with his application and does get licensed, I could see him fighting Cain.
As I said in the other thread, I definitely think pulling Overeem is the best call that the UFC could make. If he did fight, win or lose, there's no way that it's not a PR disaster for the UFC.

Tbf theres pretty much fuck all they could have done, Reem had to be dropped from the card otherwise it would have been a nightmare to try and defend potentially having him as chap, on another note tho does this make people think any differently over the Lesnar win?

Do they go ahead and mention the testosterone failure on TV? I could see them mentioning that it will be a licensing issue that is preventing the fight from happening because if you look at previous cases they have avoided mentioned drug failures as much as they could. To the best of my knowledge they didn't mention Thiago Silva's last week, just that he had been returning from a year long layoff. And when Sean Sherk was facing BJ Penn, they kind of had to use it in the build because BJ wouldn't shut up about it.

Glad to see this. It's sad cause I kinda like(d) Overeem and was looking forward to that fight, but this is what needs to be done.

In the newest WO radio Dave mentioned Team Reem reportedly ditched the TRT excuse and may now approach the hearing with an erectile dysfunction angle of some sort.
What a circus.

Gonzaga v Nelson now official.
I hope SDR still gets to fight. Maybe a quick turnaround for Rothwell or Browne?
