To be fair, the outsider challenge is a staple of wrestling. So if you can't suspend your disbelief on that plot point, then you might as well change the channel, brother. I don't mind the outside challenge, I think that's pretty cool actually. But doesn't it make way more sense to do it the other way around? Allow a non-TNA person to challenge anyone on the TNA roster and THEY have to comply by the rules and accept? I have a feeling this is one of those times they wrote the end of the story first and are trying to shoehorn reality into a mold that makes it work, no matter what nonsense spills over the side. That said, I hope Scott Steiner comes back, is given a live mic, and challenges HHH to a match (which, I guess, means that masked thugs will have to kidnap HHH and bring him to the Impact Zone).

The logic is probably that Bischoff is technically still under contract. His contract is not null and void. He just, per the stipulation, can now be fired/released without consequence.
I personally hate when people tear apart spoilers and try to investigate details from spoilers written by an observer who has to recap from memory. Spoilers are for people who want to read 'spoilers'. It's not meant to be up for review or critique.
The show is meant to be watched on television.
