Anybody else rather enjoy the breather between UFC shows this month? Even though I am a UFC fan, the amount of PPVs/TV that the UFC did during the first quarter of the year and the last quarter of 2011 kinda left me burnt out. This next PPV is actually going to feel a little more big to me and I'm anticipating it more. My attitude has changed from; "Oh, ANOTHER UFC show this weekend? " to "Oooh. A UFC show this weekend! ;D " Anybody else feel the same way?

I agree and combined with the fact it's a big main event I think it will only help interest for the show.

Yeah, I feel the same way too. Was even afraid I'd missed something cause it's been so long. Really looking forward to the next one.

Suspense and a bit of a build up does really help interest in fights. We've been so spoilt recently with all these shows and you kind of take it for granted. This break has got me pretty pumped.

I have kinda been going through withdrawals though. Every season I say I am going to watch TUF, and this time is like any other. I feel like I can't get into the fights in that quiet gym with no commentary. It may seem like a stupid reason, but even at bars when they don't have the sound up, I have a hard time concentrating and getting into the fights.

Yeah, it sure seems like a while since the last UFC show. There's been so much going on with pro wrestling that I kinda forgot about MMA, though I am excited about Jones vs Evans.

Love this break.
I covered MMA for over 10 years. Quit in January cause I was so burnt out on MMA. Took 6 weeks off without watching any fights really. 6 weeks off, and I was interested in watching MMA again.
These breaks are necessary.

The long break was needed, especially between PPV's. I liked the fact that they knew they didn't have a quality card to run in March, so they didn't do it.

I don't think its the lack of a quality card. They book these months in advance and could have put one together if they wished. I think it's more to do with TUF being live now and wanting to bed that in properly.

I agree that there probably was too many shows that close together. But to be fair, if they absolutely had to do it that way, has there ever been a better run of shows starting from Shogun/Hendo to Edgar/Henderson?

While I did not like the break, I am much more excited than normal for a UFC show.

I thought it was a mistake to break the drought with the UFC Sweden show, I thought if they did a switcheroo and had UFC 142 this weekend it would be more effective.
I remember when I was a fight fan growing up and we had months and months between UFC or Pride events and when the big fight finally happened it was a real big deal, you don't get that anymore.
With the added schedule and a Zuffa, LLC event on almost every weekend of the calendar year has its clear advantages it also takes away the factor of wanting an event or a big fight.

not a lot of people will watch the Sweden show besides the hardcores.

not a lot of people will watch the Sweden show besides the hardcores. I'll be up at 2AM for the start of the show, going to be a long night.
