The rec.sport.pro-wrestling newsgroup dates back to around 1990 or so, and maybe even a bit earlier that that. That was probably the first organized place online for wrestling discussion.

I'm definitly not saying that pro wrestling was on the internet in the 80's, I'm just saying the internet existed. And if I want to be a dick, I will also point out that John said "Randy Savage is jewish". Should be "Randy Savage was jewish." But that's just me being an asshole

The origin of the internet discussion that continues to be brought up for some reason is one of the stupidest ever had on this forum.

In the King of the Ring 96 review John said that this event was Ultimate Warriors second ppv appearance. His second was in the April pay per view In your house good friends better enemies against Goldust and the reason I remembered this in particular because I was wondering who the one night body guard Goldust had and Warrior destroyed him that night and you never heard from that guy ever again. It was actually a weird match over all .. worth reviewing later on

Did John refer to Wai's twitter avatar as a picture of "The Clipse" in the CM Punk DVD review podcast?
It is clearly a drawing of Jay-Z and the late Notorious B.I.G referring to the song they did together on Jay-Z's first album.

Excellent thread!
It's not so much that I'm a pedant for erroneous musings, but when self-satisfied "broadcasters" such as Mr. Pollock have such a high opinion of themselves and their product and smugly try to undermine valid (when applicable, of course) feedback from listeners, then they are setting themselves up for a fall. The same goes for that witless idiot Agnew.

Didn't read through everything but in the Halloween Havoc 95 review John states Sabu was fired and done in WCW after his match and the "fireball" incident. But Sabu in fact wrestled on the following nights Nitro and at that show is put over pretty big by the announcers.

In the October 28th edition of the LAW, during Title Bout Trivia, Jay and The Mouth asked a contestant to name Chris Jericho's original moniker in Fozzy. The caller answered with the name Moongoose McQueen. Jay and The Mouth gave him full credit for the answer, while saying that the correct name was Mongoose McQueen.
However, Moongoose was the correct name that Jericho used initially with Fozzy.

I believe the nWo shirt that John references that says "Broken Bones Rule" actually read "Rules and bones were meant to be broken." Sadly, I know this because I bought this shirt. John showed better judgment than I did.

I do not doubt you had THAT shirt, but this is the shirt John was referring to. EDIT: I am not a troll.

I love how before you point out something that is true and correct you have to state that you are NOT a troll.
Stating a simple fact has now been reduced to Being "a Troll".
I had an nWo shirt in the 90s where the logo glowed in the dark. I still have the classic one.

On the October 29, 2012 edition of Review-A-Raw, John says Wade Barrett and Randy Orton are on match #85 in a Best-of-400 series. This hypothetical series would have to be a best-of-399 or 401 (something with an odd number) so that the series is not ultimately tied at 200-200.
