portal2.tickebo.jp/sp/en/njpw/index.html Is the online shop although they've only been offering invasion Attack tickets. The finals will likely be sold out in advance but you might have a shot on Friday or Saturday. There's wrestling all the time in summer. DDT is running their big sumo hall show the day after the g1 finals. Hey, we'll be recording a show with live perspectives on invasion Attack the day after the show, as well as a Fujinami retrospective since he's going in the HOF this weekend. Leave us any questions!

Question for Chris/WH:
What are your thoughts on Shibata's ring style? While I enjoy watching his uber-stiffness, I feel that his opponents always end up working his style of match rather than him being adaptable enough to telling different stories. Or do you feel that this is just what we get with Shibata and it adds to the eclectic nature of the New Japan roster?

This is more a general Japan question:
For a few months now, there have been rumblings in the MMA world that former PRIDE president Nobuyuki Sakakibara is looking to get back into MMA in Japan and trying to start up a major league org.
Outside of the lack of mainstream popularity of MMA currently to support an org beyond the regional level (DEEP, Shooto, etc.), would someone like Sakakibara, who was front and center of PRIDE during the Yakuza scandal and also part of what turned out to be a pretty botched sale of PRIDE to Zuffa, even have a chance at success?
Would his past work against him when it came to sponsors, broadcasters, etc.?

Time to ask for questions again! We're recording next Monday with chat about Dontaku, Moroshima's retirement, NOAH's Global Tag League and more.
In honour of Best of the Super Juniors starting soon, we're going to hash out who are the top ten Juniors in New Japan history. If you have any picks you want discussed, add them here.

Hey guys. Would love to hear your opinions on Mr. G1 Masahiro Chono, feel he gets a little overlooked. Also what do you think about guys who win the same tournament time and time again e.g. Chono with the G1 and Goto with the New Japan Cup.
In terms of the greatest Junior heavyweights in New Japan my picks would have to be Jushin Liger and Prince Devitt as both guys transcended the Junior division and were just overall stars in my view.

Wassup Fellas.
Where would you rank Honaga in your juniors list? When I first started getting into Japanese Wrestling, I ordered a "Best of the IWGP Jr. Heavyweight TItle" compilation from High Spots. It shows a bunch of clipped matched documenting the title's history.
Liger was my favorite wrestler, still is, but Honaga had a lot of clean wins over him. I didn't like him at all. As I got older and went back to watch those matches, dude was legit good. Why didn't he do more? Was it lack of character? I think he could have been a long time junior heel.

now a JAW question really, but I would love a podcast where you translate some of the main wrestling terms that you hear on Japanese commentary.

Damn hopefully I am not too late.
1. Chris, I am proud of the announcement. Even THOUGH, I was hoping this announcement was about you telling us you partnered with a video game company to produce a Japanese Pro Wrestling game. Maybe you can get in contact with Kenny Omega and yall can make that happen, since he has so much pull in the video game world. (Dead serious)
2. Am I the only one getting slightly bored by NJPW? Of course they put on good matches but we are basically getting the same G1 for the 3rd straight year (to a degree). I was disappointed in them not including anyone different. Nobody from CMLL or Noah could have been borrowed?

Hello Mr. Charlton and Mr. Park,
Could you describe how popular top New Japan talent are as sports or entertainment stars in Japan? I've seen a lot of Nakamura ads for a variety of things, including beef bowls, he and Okada did some stuff to promote the Hello Kitty partnership and appeared in Pharrell's Happy video, and Devitt even had an endorsement deal with Armani Exchange.
Are these types of things common for the big names in japanese wrestling? Does TV Asahi drive a lot of that? I know, with respect to WWE in North America, any slick ad deals are done between a company and WWE, who then identify particular talent for ad campaign work.

Just got finished watching Naito/AJ Styles from Day 7. I am really enjoying this new Naito. The mannerisms really remind me of old school Muta. And him taking forever to take off his outfit really pisses folks off. Becoming more of a fan as the days pass. I actually sat down and thought of all the questions I have for you two to answer. So I will be sending them in over the course of the next few months. 3 at a time if that isn't too much. 1. Is CHAOS supposed to be a HEEL faction? I ask because their hypeman (Gedo) has been a heel for as long as I have remembered him as. But people love Nakamura/Okada, so I am confused as to how that really works. 2. What is the process of becoming a young boy? Does NJPW have tryouts or is it on a recommendation basis? 3. Is Honma essentially a NJPW version of Mizdow? People love him because they find him as a sympathetic joke I am assuming. But what if NJPW shuffled things up a little and decided to put him on an actual winning streak. COuldn't he become a big star? (Huge hypothetical I know) 4. Do you know about this? - (Preview of) Great Sasuke Documentary: mikikosasaki.com/#/director/(Currently in Post Production)

Andrew from New Zealand
I have a couple of questions
1 I've been keeping an eye out on how Jay White is developing in New Japan.Where do you see him being in a years time given how he's progressing would it be a good move to put him in a tag team with an established veteran or possibly send him to ROH as a excursion deal ?
2 Will Kushida become the ACE of the junior heavy division that New Japan can build around to help strengthen it ?
