After watching this episode of SD, I'm now certain it's sole purpose was to provide the backbone for an episode of Legends House. There was absolutely nothing of substance on this show. But when Legends House airs, it should replay as one of the greatest episodes in the history of SD.
Well done WWE, way to put your priorities in order.

Overall not a BAD show, however a few things. while I fully understand that John is the new heel GM and they need to anoy us to all heck with that fact. it makes me want to turn the channel or poke my eyes out! The Daniel Bryan Piper's pit was very good segment that brought back memories of the "good ole days" where wrestlers talked. Brining in Jimmy Hart to manage a match as only he and Bobby the Brain could do in the old days was another classy and good move. todays managers could learn a thing or two from these folks! Old fashioned you say? Sure but I long for the days of good build ups and no hotshotting of matches and making things so bloody obvious that is it like pulling teeth.
Overall "rating" I'd give the show a 7 out of 10 but only because I saw a lot of old faces that I can say I saw wrestle!

Another ok WWE TV show. Even though I loved the YES! chants, Daniel Bryan is such an incredible heel that after tonight, it's hard to want him to change and for the fans to completely turn him baby face. I also hope that AJ gets back with him, potentially getting even more heat for Bryan as he keeps manipulating sweet AJ. The rest of the show was iffy. From a seemingly random inter gender match, to Sgt. Slaughter and Hacksaw Jim Duggan beating up Hunico and Camacho. I know there hasn't been much of a focus on the younger talent, but this was ridiculous. Did anyone else catch the line that Booker hoped Michael Cole would die? He's starting to feel bullied by Cole constantly making him look foolish. One last thing, I enjoyed Damien Sandow's promo, and this week it made me think of WWE hammering home Twitter on their television. I also like how on Damien's twitter account, he has some guy named Ignatious tweeting for him until he gets more followers. Anyway, 6.5 out of 10 show, a .5 going to Benny Camer.

How can the WWE put out this product or how can they write the format sheet and present it to Vince or Stephanie or Hayes and why would they Ok this? Are they so busy with the Network? They should concentrate on making better TV, cause the backbone of this company is wrestling on Mondays and Fridays, even if they don't like to admit it. 3/10 show.

It was somewhere in the middle of okay and complete garbage.

Daniel Bryan was fine in his interview and am looking forward to the 2 out 3 falls match. Ryback was the only great thing on the show. That was the best lariat I have seen in a really long time. Great charisma as far just raw intensity. That opens him up to Goldberg comparisons which is hard to live up to. Voted thumbs down for the show though. Not good when the best match is a 10 second squash.

BIG Thumbs Down for this show.
I was looking forward to this show when I heard about it a few weeks ago, but it turned out to be a lot less than I was hoping for. Aside from the Piper's Pit, there was nothing to remember, nothing to even make me smirk.. (Great K getting the tongue from Mae? Please.) or nothing to say "oh that was cool". Nothing, nada.
WWE have used up their Legends, especially this crop.
Now to be honest, I don't know why I thought the use of Legends would be any different on this show than any other - but there's always hope, right?
1/5

This show didn't get any promotion which was odd to me because they dedicated 3 hours to Old School Raw which I enjoyed immensely. The last half hour was really flat and even Daniel Bryan couldn't get the crowd going for the main event. I didn't hear any YES! chants, at least any that were audible. Cole was burying SYFY for even airing this Smackdown live. I know it was supposed to lead up to his beatdown by the legends at the end but it seems to be counterproductive to disrespect your only television carrier.

Boring show. I liked Heath Slater and Jimmy Hart together, I think that could work if they ran with it. Put Heath with a diva, let him and Jimmy record his theme song. It could be fun.
And RYBACK. MY GOD RYBACK, I saw real life murder on my TV and it was glorious.

I got a lot of nostalgic satisfaction from this show. If nothing else, this particular "legends"-themed edition of SuperSmackdown proved that Heath Slater's gimmick would be SO much better if managed by Jimmy Hart. Slater can sell moves better than all but a few people on the roster, but he sucks on the mic. He NEEDS a manager, much like Jack Swagger. Jimmy "Mouth of the South" Hart likely has a Legends contract, which is all fine and good, except that he could actually be used in a relevant way if paired with a guy like Heath Slater. Those gimmicks were made for one another.
The show had very little "good" wrestling to speak of, and the crowd was just kind of... there. Granted, we're all probably a little jaded and spoiled by the awesome crowd in Miami, but there's still a baseline for what a "good" crowd is, and this show did not have one. It's sad because the Piper's Pit segment could have been epic with the support of a hot crowd, but instead we got scattered response at best and people sitting on their hands at worst. C'est la vie.
The only real things I remember from this SmackDown were the appearances of guys like "Cowboy" Bob Orton (who was lucky he was just beaten down and not electrocuted by Kane) and Dusty Rhodes, "Mean" Gene Okerlund teaming with Sheamus (which I dub The Great Green Mean Machine) and Howard Finkle announcing the main event. It felt like a retro Saturday Night's Main Event callback, which would have been even better if they had gone all-out with the gimmick and used the old-school barricades and original Fist-style Smackdown set.
Nit-picking aside, I did enjoy this show for what it was; a reason to link guys like Randy Orton to his past and a place to host another edition of Piper's Pit. That's fine. I just wish the crowd would have appreciated it, too.

A filler show with a dead crowd to boot. It seems like they tried to fit as many legends as they can on their show for about a short forgetable segment... kind of like the overblown roster.
Anyone think there was a booking mix up somewhere? An 80's campy character in Lord Tensei doing squash matches against "superstars" while Ryback is doing squash matches against the average sized, 80's like jobber?
The Kane Orton angle was well done tonight, and that really should've been the least interesting storyline of the program. Even Michael Cole getting punched out of the ring couldn't get a cheap reaction from the crowd. This show gets a 1 out of 10 and damn, Tony Atlas is still huge.

Brother Pollock & Brother Ting,
The best thing I can say about Smackdown is how glad I am that I chose to stay home & watch it on TV instead of ponying up the cash to buy a ticket! The Orton-Henry match was decent and I actually liked the Kane interaction at the end of it. Piper's Pit was also solid. But other than that, there really wasn't a whole lot for the Hampton crowd to get excited about. I know some fans will say that the crowd sucked, but I think some of the blame for that has to go to the WWE for booking a nostalgia show in an area that still generally holds the NWA and Jim Crockett Promotion wrestlers in a higher regard than the WWF superstars of the 1980's.
All in all, it was a very average show that did little to persuade me to purchase Extreme Backlash in a few weeks. That being said, at least we get a bonus podcast this week, and for that I give this show a (Hampton City Mayor) Molly Ward approved 4/10.

I give this show a thumbs in the middle. Piper's Pit was interesting with Piper and Bryan in the ring together. Kane attacking Cowboy Bob was a good way to advance the fued with Kane & Randy. It was a breath of fresh air seeing Men Gene on SmackDown. Glad that Sheamus/Bryan is a two-out-of-three falls at Extreme Rules. This show gets a 6.8 out of 10. - Brian Camacho
