Back in '97, the WWF had a Junior Light division or whatever they called it. Brian Christopher and SCOTT PUTSKI were in it. They actuall weighted more than HBK, who was in the main event scene.
Just get rid of the name, I say. Call it Superstars, Action Zone, New Breed Wrestling, whatever. The weight issue is stupid.

So basically.....a guy like Enzo. ..who has a following (somehow) who's 205 appearance upped their viewership is the right move and could help others make the leap if the division takes off.
Like we've established on the very first page.
Maybe if the so called "hardcore fans" would actually support these guys instead of chanting for CM Punk or whatever flavor of the month happens to be a story that week during their matches...it wouldn't be met with such apathy.

Thats why I said in fight post they should have the Heavy Weight and Cruiser Weight belt on the same show - then the split in divisions is more natural.

And you get them to support these guys and the division and care about the title by having the best cruiser weights in the company in the division, not the guys who aren't good enough to cut in the "real" division and allowing the creativity and freedom to do what they can do.

I guess people fighting outside of their weight class doesn't happen in real combat sports.

I guess people fighting outside of their weight class doesn't happen in real combat sports. If you're going to have a cruiser weight belt, you're kind of inviting this element into your product. Now it is pro-wrestling, so if you want say Finn Balor to get into a program with a heavy weight you can either 1) Have him "put on weight" in kayfab OR 2) Use it as a storytelling device - the little guy vs the big guy. I also think that'd be a good way to differ the heavy weight belt and universal belt - the Heavy Weight and Cruiser Weight (say on Raw) each have their divisions while the Universe (say on SD) is an open weight belt, and you can have a couple guys who should be cruiser weights on SD and have a big m ix there.

Not sure why anyone would sacrifice their midcard for a show that has a roster so big we don't see alot of them for months.
Also up to the performers themselves on if they choose to enter this division. Enzo himself was asking people if he should make the jump.

Just erase this thread. Sid Vicious has spoken and he just said that guys like Nakamura basically suck. Who are we to doubt someone with half the brain of Kevin Nash. 🤔

Then he met the second rope and the second rope won

You can't leave it up the wreslters - if guys like Balor, Cole, Johnny Wrestling decide not go into the cruiser weight division, it under minds all those are there.

Seriously guys, wrestling, at the core, is based on guys preteding to fight each other over miscarriages, ruined marriages, people spilling coffe on each other and the occasional great angle about two guys fighting over a bel... a championship. Pretending weight classes count, especially in this era, is hilarious. Braun is great because he's one of a kind. Imagine a roster full of Brauns. get the point.

You can do that with weight classes and without.

If you could do that it wouldn't have been HBK screwing Bret. Probably on of the Harris Brothers since, as I stated, HBK was a fucking cruiserweight if we have to respect weight classes.

One of the problems, IMO, is that the cruiserweights are not that different from main guys like AJ, Rollins, etc. Back in WCW they would do stuff that the main guys wouldn't even dare to try but now what's reallt the difference between, say, Swann and Balor? Thats because WWE doesn't let the cruiser weights really go. There are things in matches like this - www.youtube.com/watch?v=n8dv3U_vg4c - that guys like Styles and Rollins aren't going/can't do. The problem is WWE doesn't let them go, they put them in the same box as everyone else.
