After watching Sami Zayn go programless at Wrestlemania, thrown into the Battle Royal and unceremoniously eliminated by the fat hairy guy from Sanity. The future doesn't look bright and it's become depressing to see the direction of Zayn's career. He's one of the few wrestlers on the roster who i genuinely root for and would like to see him be a main player in the company.
My question for everyone is: Do you think Zayn will eventually become a main event talent and future World Champion?
Does the WWE brass view him as a main eventer Or will he be stuck in this mid card no man's land forever?
Personally i hope Zayn is much better utilized in 2017. He's super talented and very likable. Hopefully similar to the way Daniel Bryan got over as the underdog, i'd like to see Zayn get a run as World champion one day.

I think they will tell the underdog story with him eventually, especially if the brand split is kept up for a few years. Hard to say if that will equate to him being a "major player" though. If you define that as a guy you could picture doing something like winning the Royal Rumble and/or working the main event at Wrestlemania (as champion or challenger), there's certainly some former world champions from the last brand split that probably never reached that level: Great Khali, Jack Swagger and Christian (IMO) are the ones that come to mind without doing research.

I kind of see Zayn moving to Smackdown and think he'd get more of a chance of there. He's just kind of lost in the shuffle on Raw but at the very least he's a guy who seems to be doing something most weeks on Raw. He should be thankful he's not a guy like Bo Dallas or Curtis Axel, those guys get absolutely nothing for months on end.

He's a glorified mid carder who is in his rightful place.....What exactly does he offer outside of a match? Nothing.
Give him my Larry David character I keep pitching for him and maybe he can get more air time, but him being generic baby face who is into ska isn't going to amount to shit.

Look to NXT to see what more Sami Zayn can offer. Ability to main event and leave customers satisfied. He has a catchy entrance music. He has a long arc with Kevin Owens. Maybe the next chapter is they are forced to tag and can make-up. Sami Zayn speaks 3 languages, I think, (English, French, Arabic).

What did Sami Zayn do in NXT that the didn't do on Raw?
He showed more comedy and babyface fire just this month alone. He's reached his peaks he's a helluva hand, but he's not going to mainevent a WrestleMania.

I know I shouldn't get my hopes up, but hopefully this roster shuffle helps him. I agree he's not going to main event Wrestlemania, but he can be better utilized.

Respectfully disagree with the people saying Zayn is in his right spot in the mid-card, and the character is shit. He is one of the very few wrestlers who i am invested in as a fan. I really enjoy him as a character and in-ring talent (plus he's Canadian eh!). Zayn has two important things going for him #1 He's a excellent in-ring worker, and #2 He has a believable character. When Zayn talks you can believe that is something he would say. As opposed to someone like Seth Rollins, who Yes is 10 out of 10 in the ring, but he is the shits on the mic. When Rollins talks i cringe. He sounds like some C-level actor in some crappy action movie trying his best to recite his lines. It's terrible. I don't believe a single word he says. And yet Rollins is accepted as a top guy, and Zayn is nothing but a mid carder. Go figure. Not saying Rollns doesn't deserve his spot, he does. And not saying Zayn is the greatest talker, he's not. But Zayn is the more believable babyface character. The fans mostly love him, no reason why he couldn't thrive as a top babyface if booked properly. To each their own i guess but Zayn's got a lot more going for him than some of you give him credit for. That's just my opinion.

He's great in ring and an everyman-type guy that people can get behind but they've made him look a dork. End of.

There are only so many times you can build a guy as the underdog without him actually winning in the end that you can book. Ziggler is a perfect example.

Given that Sami Zayn, Kevin Owens, Tye Dillinger Jinder Mahal, and the Bollywood Boyz are all on Smackdown, and Kevin Owens doing basically Brett's anti-America gimmick, I'd love to see them go back to the Canadian Stable Idea.

Maybe the next chapter is they are forced to tag and can make-up. Sami Zayn speaks 3 languages, I think, (English, French, Arabic). 1. Every smark says "just look at what he did on NXT!" for every wrestler who comes up and fizzles out. No. He's been on the main roster now for what, two years or more? I shouldn't have to watch a guy play Triple-A Baseball when he's been in the majors for two years. You can't be all like "I know he hasn't looked like much against the Yankees and the Red Sox, but man just go back and see how great he was against the Toledo Mud Hens!!" Show me what you've got at the highest level when it matters of GTFO and go back to the indies and hide behind a mask again. 2. Sami Zayn in the main event of a random SmackDown? Okay, maybe if it's the right Non-Owens opponent, but Sami Zayn main event SummerSlam?? Ha ha ha ha ha, how about NO. Unless they do some heavy duty rebuilding on him over the next like 13 months he's a Jobber To The Stars or Mid-card guy that can beat geeks like Tyler Breeze or the members of The Ascension and no better. Don't even start about "work rate" because you know the average WWE fan who goes to Raw or SmackDown because he saw it on the tee-vee doesn't care about that and neither does Vince McMahon. 3. I hate his fucking music. It's annoying as hell. 4. I never want to see another Kevin Owens/Sami Zayn match for as long as I live. It's among John Cena/Randy Orton and Sheamus/Randy Orton on the list of matches I never, ever want to see again ever. And a team of Owens and Zayne?? Double Hell to the No. Not only because they should obviously hate each other for the rest of time... but it would inevitably lead to a break-up angle and MORE Kevin Owens/Sami Zayn matches! No. No. No!5. So what? Hulk Hogan, Steve Austin, and Bret Hart only spoke one language and they did pretty well for themselves. Sorry to tell you Sami Zayn defenders but Sami Zayn is broken and WWE probably doesn't care enough to try an fix him. At this point, he is what he is. Don't hold your breath waiting for that big Sami Zayn main event push because he's not far off from being Zack Ryder 2K17.
