Since recent Ill health has left me spending more time having to lay down, I've had a lot more time and appreciation for podcasts.
Talking Sheet and Behind the Sheets are quite good for reflecting back on events and how they were reported.
The lapsed Fan is a long listen, but I am not a fan of the impressions or some of the content. But I mostly enjoy it.
Really enjoy Solomonster Sounds off as it's a nice mix of LAW style content, and it's an easy listen.
I signed up for the MLW VIP and found that I'm still mostly listening to the free podcasts, but the archives have a huge amount of content. Something to wrestle with... Bruce Prichard is my mainstay Friday listen.
The Steve Austin shows are pretty much always must listens, Talk is Jericho guest dependant, Ross Report is usually decent. Killing the Towns short and sweet, and occasionally I'll listen to Colt Cabana or Sam Roberts if I think the guests are worth it.

- Review a Raw , Review a Smackdown, Review A Wai (No one in the industry who does podcast have the chemistry John and Wai have , my all time favourite podcast, Salute to John and Wai to all the hard work they do. I miss Papa Ting )
-LAW (Not really a fan of some of the interviews but I understand why they do it)
-Whts Nxt (Shout out to Brayden he gets too much hate and doesnt get the credit he deserves especially with his knowledge of moves)
-Keepin it 2000 (Brian Mann & Nate Milton great show)
Other Podcast
- Taz Show ( Only listen to it after PPVS or Raw And Smackdown gives good insight on little things)
- Keepin it 100 (Konnan, Kevin Gill, Disco Inferno he can get very annoying with his absurd comments/views)" I didnt watch Pete Dunn vs Tyler Bate cause they looked small"
- VIP Lounge (MVP and Alex Greenfield good show)
- MLW Radio (Rarely listen to it, always feel like Court is trying to sell you something which can be annoying)
- Kings of Sports ( Nate & Marcus good take on sports, but Nate many times i cant listen cause your mic sounds terrible with too much reverb and echo, I still love you though)
- Elwood City Limits Podcast (Reason I decided to bring this thread back up if you grew up watching the cartoon Arthur you will love this show even if you didn't give it a chance , many wrestling references as well )

Reviving an old thread because I'm looking for updated recommendations.
As far as wrestling goes, I listen to Review-A-Raw/Smackdown/Wai, the LAW, Keep It 2000, Cornette's Drive-Thru and Killing the Town.
JR, Austin and Jericho are all very dependent on the guest for me. I like when they talk wrestling but usually skip when the guest is a musician or whatever else. I was out on Cheap Heat when Rosenberg started to sound like a shill (and then he became a literal one) and I only listen to "The Maker of Fine Footwear" because his podcast shows up at a point in the week when I have nothing else to listen to.
Any other recommendations?

I've cut back on my wrestling podcasts. Starting to listen to more and more non wrestling ones and less wrestling ones. For Wrestling I'm pretty much just down to LAW, RAW, Review a Smackdown, Review a Wai, Art of Wrestling, PwPonderings, and all the Wrestling Observer ones. Ross Report and TIJ it depends on the guest.
6 months ago I would say 70% of the podcasts I listened to were wrestling ones. Not it's down to less than 50%.

My podcast listening has fallen a lot of the last month or so. I always make time for Review-a-Wai and Keep It 2000 but I struggle to fit in Review-a-Raw & Smackdown. I have got into OSW review when they do shows but that's more a video podcast.

Glad this is here so I can find something else to listen too now that they’ve canceled LAW radio

Nolecast, 247noles podcast and a bunch of other sports based podcasts. Probably my favorite to listen to, from, and at work is Penthouse Platitudes that deals with a ton of topics such as current events, sports, and Men/Women interactions

So my job is boring and I have essentially eight hours a day of which I use to listen to pods. So I have -currently- 37 but it gets as high as fifty occasionally. I'll break it down a little.
COMEDY: Scathing Atheist, Skeptocrat, God Awful Movies, Cognitive Dissonance, Citation Needed These are all podcasts from the same group of people. Cognitive Dissonance, Scathing Atheist and Skeptocrat are all news-ish shows that tend to cherry pick the worst of religion and right-wing politics and lampoon it. GAM and Citation Needed use the same rough comedic approach to attack religious cinema and random articles from Wikipedia. Tons of super off colour humor including humor of a sexual nature, so maybe listen through headphones if you're around people.
The Bugle Andy Zaltzman is a charming Australian cricket fanatic who's good at podcasting and bad puns, and he too likes making fun of political news. Former podcast of John Oliver.
I Don't Even Own A Television This is a podcast about bad books, they've covered stuff like Big Apple Takedown and Bob Holly's book, as well as many others. They keep it really positive, which is nice. Always recommending good books that they actually enjoy, and they're super active on Facebook and really like talking to fans.
My Dad Wrote a Porno Clue is in the title. The podcast host's father wrote a series of erotic fanfiction and him and his friends tear it apart. Currently on hiatus, but it will most likely be back for a third season. Currently has two seasons in backlog available.
The Beaverton Weekly Report The Beaverton is kind of The Onion Canada, and the Weekly Report is their comedy news show. Solid, actual news, made fun of by funny people. Also currently on hiatus but it will most likely be back.
NEWS AND NEWS ANALYSIS: Opening Arguments OA is a podcast about American law, they have two shows a week. One is strictly for diving into a legal concept, one is designed to be a quick response - usually to dispel some silly thing that came up during the news week. Also includes a feature where the second host Thomas Smith takes the bar exam one question a week, and he's doing shockingly well.
Canadaland, Canadaland Commons Canadaland is probably Canada's biggest independent news source that isn't horribly racist, and is primarily a show about media criticism on its face. Canadaland Commons is more focused on parliamentary politics.
The Weeds Vox Media's The Weeds is a show all about deep dives into American governmental policy, usually either about taxes or healthcare, and is a pretty interesting show - they really take care to explore why they hold the beliefs they do, what evidence they use to justify the criticisms they have for current governmental policy, it's a really solid show and was the first place I personally went to for analysis when Trump was elected.
Cited Cited comes from the University of British Columbia, and used to carry the tagline "The only podcast with a bibiliography". They've since dropped that tagline but the spirit remains, they focus on deep dives into news stories that effect British Columbia specifically, but their pieces on the heroin epidemic and senior's housing are great listening for anyone.
Intercepted Jeremy Scahill hosts this podcast, sometimes with the man credited for breaking the Edward Snowden story Glenn Greenwald. He's deeply critical of America on all fronts, foreign, domestic, etc. and I find his deeply well spoken and passionate diatribes to hit on some very good points. He also has a lot of interviews with musicians and authors, solid stuff. Maybe one of my absolute favourites.
Intersections Intersections is from the Brookings Institute, an 100 year old think tank from DC. They talk a lot about things that I tend to not actively think about, like their most recent episode on Africa's middle class. Not my favourite, but a solid podcast that comes out sporadically.
On The Media From WNYC in, well, NYC, this is a podcast that's, sort of about American media criticism? It's not that critical most of the time, honestly. It tends to track patterns in media, it tends to dive into why and how people report the way they do, and just has a lot of lighter, more interesting things about media reporting over the years. I don't listen to every episode of this one, but if the show notes sound interesting I'll tend to listen.
Amicus From Slate, Dahlia Lithwick covers the Supreme Court when its in session, categorizing cases on the docket, decisions that have come through, and the weeds of past and present court decisions.
Safe Space This show is fucking FUN. It's a "safe space for bad takes", and Toronto journalists Vicky Mochama and Ishmael Daro go through the news of the week or whatever they feel like talking about and just kind of shoot the breeze. It's really casual, it's really opinionated, it's not exactly news but it's also not-not news? It's just a good show, and it's only 40 minutes, so it tends to go by quick.
Power and Politics This is a CBC podcast about politics. That's pretty much it - it has a news portion, interviews, and a panel. It's a 90 minute long show so I definitely skip this one most days, but if something big happens, Power and Politics tends to have really solid analysis. Also comes in video form, which I think is pretty easy to access within Canada.
Economic Update I want Richard Wolff to be my daddy. Richard Wolff is a socialist economist and professor whos written books since the 80's, and wants to tell you about the evils of modern capitalism. Has some interesting episodes in the backlog about the failures (and successes) of communist and socialist governments. I really love the way he speaks, the topics he picks, the guests he has on, I think he crafts a really excellent show which I think you should definitely listen to at SOME point.
History, Education: Jacobin Radio Jacobin is another socialist podcast akin to Economic Update. They tend, however, to have more moderate voices on and strive to find middle ground, working through differences - at least that's the impression I get, I haven't been listening long. They do multiple shows on the same feed, and I can't speak to all of them, but so far the Dig has been a very interesting program.
More Perfect More Perfect is another podcast akin to Amicus, but about historical Supreme Court decisions, instead of current events. Really well produced, it's another WNYC podcast. Went on a LONG hiatus before coming back recently.
WRESTLING: How 2 Wrestling, Attitude Era Podcast: These are two podcasts run by the same group of people, roughly speaking. How2 is Kevin Mahon teaching his partner about wrestling. It's really interesting to hear them dive into individual wrestlers, promotions, match types, etc. The female co-host is really interesting and caught on quick, and she's quickly making some really good analysis, not only about wrestling past but present as well. Attitude Era podcast is loooong winded comedy about, well, the Attitude Era - and other various shows from different time periods. I like the chemistry between the hosts, but if you don't, that's fair, don't waste your time.
E&C's Pod of Awesomeness I'm sure y'all know about this one, but I like E&C because they're not as ad-driven as the PodcastOne wrestling shows, nor as long winded as people like Pritchard, or even some of the other MLW network shows. I really think their show is -constructed- very well and is really enjoyable. They tend to also have good guests that give really interesting insight into moments in wrestling history.
OTHER: Hello Internet Youtubers CGP Grey and Brady Haran talk about Youtube, their lives, education, being an educator, etc. Genuinely more interesting than it sounds.
The Ezra Klein Show Ezra Klein (from Vox Media - same people that release aforementioned The Weeds) interviews folks. Sometimes they're awful (Tim Ferrirs is a pompous privileged dick) but sometimes they're great. Pick and choose which of these you care about, but definitely listen to the people who sound interesting, Ezra always gives a solid interview.
Wooden Overcoats This is a really clever and witty serial storytelling podcast about two competing funeral homes. Currently on hiatus but season 3 is apparently coming soon and I genuinely can't wait. It's really funny, well acted, with great characters and super solid writing.
I think that's it? I probably missed a few, but there ya go.

I just recently found The Lapsed Fan... working through the archives and currently in the midst of the 30 Years, 30 Wrestlemanias reviews from 2014-15. I like how much they just sound like two friends talking wrestling, even when it devolves into bad jokes and obnoxious fits of laughter (which we've all done with our friends).
In short, if you want a great Jesse Ventura impression and the world's worst Vince McMahon impression, I highly recommend it.

I'm not a fan of Jack Encarnacio at all. Also, some people seem to equate longer = better for podcasts, but I strongly disagree. I wish there was more 45 minute podcasts out there.

This is a big thing for me. I think Attitude Era is long and it clocks in at 2-3 hours. Lapsed Fan (and so many other wrestling podcasts) are so long winded I can't even deal. Even if people chopped it up into well edited 40 minute segments and took their monthly podcast and made it weekly, that'd be fantastic.

Yep.
A few months back I heard good things about a podcast called Conspiracy Guys. Sounds like something I would like so I went to check it out. It's 3-4 episodes a month.....and each one is 3+ hours long, and quite a few are in the 4-5 hour range. Didn't even bother listening to a single one when I saw that. I can't work that into my podcast rotation.
