Do you prefer wrestlers with first and last names or wrestlers with titles for names.
For eg: Terra Ryzing, Paul Levesque, Hunter Hearst Helmsley are names Triple H is a nickname/title for a name.

Good question. I feel like there should be a good mix of both. But if I had to choose between either, I'd pick nicknames.

Yeah, I'm gonna go ahead and vote nicknames too.

Whichever suits the character. Guys with nicknames in the examples you stated are all pretty flamboyant, have facepaint, etc. Characters based more in reality are probably helped with a realistic name.

its interesting that most of the female wrestlers just go by a "real name."

Character context is key, even in different sports. I doubt Kimbo Slice, Tank Abbott, Rampage Jackson would sell tickets by going by Kevin Ferguson, David Abbott or Quentin Jackson.

I think you phrased your question wrong. Sting isn't a nickname, it's a characters name.
Ethan Carter III being called EC3 is a nickname. CM Punk would probably be considered a nickname, by your examples, but it's actually a full name
It's all based on character. Gold/Stardust would be pretty silly calling them Dustin or Cody.

agree that you need a mix.

I have to agree with the above, you need that mix and it depends on the character. Although I will say that Cheeseburger is a damn dreadful name!

I was thinking about this recently when I heard that Grand Theft Auto was going to be named Race n Chase.
Cody "Stardust" Rhodes Sting "Steve" Borden "Stone Cold" Steve Austin Kane Bearer
What about how the divas don't have last names? Although I guess the NXT crop seems to all have last names for now, but its only a matter of time before they fade and Becky's last name will be trivia.

Women only get last names when they start having a position of authority, Eve didn't become Eve Torres until she became John Laurinitis' assistant or AJ lee didn't have a last name until she became GM for 5 nauseating minutes.

I prefer the titles, rather than the full names. Unless I'm Dave Bautista and my wrestling name is gonna be Dave Batista, I'd rather wrestle under a completely gimmick'd name. Then, when I exit wrestling, I won't be Edge anymore I'll be Adam. I want a name so obviously fake, that you'd feel dumb to call me that outside wrestling.
Another point. It enhances ur name. They call him Dwayne "The Rock" Johnson Colby "Seth Rollins" Lopez doesn't have the same touch.
