If Destination America is rumored to have some kind of booking input into TNA (such as was rumored with the last Kurt Angle championship run), why did they not intervene with respect to the current ongoing GFW/TNA crossover? Is it an indication of TNA's supposed "lame duck" status (that is, they don't really care about the content if it's not going to be on for much longer), an indication that GFW might have a presence on Destination America (alongside or in place of TNA) once their shows are taped, or something else entirely?
Also, do you think that Destination America might show old TNA One Night Only events in place of first-run Impact episodes to close out their TV deal?

Destination America got buyers remorse on pro wrestling pretty quick I think.
Never heard anything about them having a hand in Angle's title run.

Never heard anything about them having a hand in Angle's title run. I've not seen anything on it beyond baseless speculation, but I've seen the rumour doing the rounds for a while. It's predicated on the logic that Angle is essentially Captain America and the channel's Destination America, so, yanno, there we go.....

It is quite baseless IMO, given that at the time there were likely better candidates if executive meddling with TNA storylines was a thing and Destination America wanted that "all-American babyface" (Brian and Nate repeatedly argued that a babyface James Storm would have done quite well, considering Angle's fading star power...).
It's actually sad really that there was no effort to push an American babyface character to the level of, say, EC3. (Whether that's a preference of pushing non-American babyfaces such as Rockstar Spud or Drew Galloway lately, or just a lack of trust in people like Jeff Hardy, for example.) Actually, TNA seems to have inherited a trope of "Southern-style wrestling storytelling" with the "the only serious well-fleshed out contenders are heels" mentality (or similarly, "the only serious threat to a heel is a heel who turns babyface"). And that really made that "marketable all-American babyface" difficult to find unless TNA would turn one of their well-developed American heels (think turning James Storm), broke up tag team specialists (ie. The Wolves), and/or passed off some "ambiguously Western" babyface as American (think "passing off Rockstar Spud as American"). Or simply rebooted Mr. Anderson when they should have...
Of course, I'm excluding people such as Bobby Lashley from consideration due to alleged "split loyalty" between Bellator and TNA, and people such as Chris Melendez due to perceived ability to hang with main event talent (what would it take for TNA to sell Melendez as a top contender nowadays...). But the point remains that the rumors of Destination America meddling with TNA creative doesn't hold too much water given that Kurt Angle is the closest people have to that all-important all-American babyface, when it would not be beyond their abilities to meddle such that a better candidate was chosen...

Why would they care about GFW at all? It's roster is made up of indie guys who only the hardcore fans know of and ex-TNA guys. Hell is more ex-TNA then anything else. You'd be replacing TNA with TNA.

It was reported today that the one reason TNA allowed Jarrett to come back temporarily was for him to divest his interest in TNA as Jeff still had minority ownership. In the exchange, Jarrett was allowed to promote GFW. Both in storyline and in reality, the 2 sides should now go their own way.
Dixie Carter also admitted today that TNA will not be on DA in 2016 but may still be on for the rest of 2015. Since there are no tv tapings planned for past October, the thought is that some of the One Night Only matches already taped could be used to fill in some weeks worth of Impact.
For the rest of the year, TNA was hoping to go to India and tape a bunch of shows there. Whether they go to India or not is not yet determined. If they go to India, that would probably fill up weeks until they tour the UK in January. TNA does have some tv deals overseas, but they do not earn much there.

International deals will only help so much seeing as they are not on the premium channels that people actually pay for.

Destination America should go full swing. ROH, TNA, GFW. Have them all on with 2 hour shows. Find some boxing and MMA to fill in the other 2 weekdays. Make a few reality shows and rename itself to TWN The Wrestling Network. We've got an indie here in Vegas with a TV deal, I think the preview channel. They've got Jesse Sauronsen.

Most likely scenario is that DA will have zero wrestling once they are done with TNA in 2016.

Destination America just pointing out what rasslin is, low brow entertainment that advertisers have zero confidence in. Probably go shitty reality show route and another of those home renovation shows and shows about the most mundane jobs.

The bigger-picture question is why Dixie felt it was necessary for Jarrett to relinquish his ownership stake in TNA.
If this company was going down, you would think why even bother. Is or was she trying to sell the company or bring in new people who will also be part owners?

Consolidate all assets to one majority owner makes it easier to sell. Not sure if their tape library is worth much outside of a handful of matches to explain where some high profile names have been to the majority of pro wrestling fans.
