as written in the Wrestling Observer Newsletter...
Supposedly after the live version of Impact resulted in lower than even the regular numbers, Destination America canceled TNA Impact. Big problem is getting ads based considering Impact's audience size or even getting any advertisers willing to air spots on wrestling.
The network's plan was to keep the cancellation quiet until September with Impact 1st-run shows continuing until then. However Impact is moving to Wednesdays, so something may or may not have changed. Dixie was told of this cancellation last week, and it looks like she has not mentioned anything to talent.
I am guessing that maybe DA is giving Dixie one final chance to persuade them differently. Meltzer thinks as of now, Destination America has not changed their minds.

the bloom fell off the rose in that relationship pretty quickly.

I think it's over with DA, once they started moving and cancelling the other shows it was obvious they weren't happy and Impacts days were numbered.
And if they wore out their welcome this quickly, with a network this far up the dial, they're gonna have a helluva time getting on TV again. I don't think there is any coming back from this, they can't seem to produce shows and tour feasibly in the US. I'm thinking they either shut the doors and liquidate (maybe sell the tapes to WWE and the set and rings to Jarrett), or totally change course and operate out of the UK in some form.

DA was stupid to think TNA would give the network 1 million viewers.
Hope TNA goes to ION. More households

My bet is Jarrett buys the company on condition he gets TV for the company if not he backs outs and WWE ends up with the tape library and Brand.

DA probably did not expect 1 million viewers. The main problem anyway is ad sales. For a show that is being watched by about half a million people each week, DA is not getting the ad sales they expected. In some cases advertisers are specifically telling DA that they do not want their ads on Impact. Plus, Impact is not a low-budget show. So basically, DA does not think they are getting their money's worth.
As far as GFW goes, the Observer mentioned that Scott D'Amore was telling ROH talent that GFW has a TV deal. Take that for whatever that is worth.

Destination America should've known that there was a reason why Spike let this albatross loose. But they shouldn't try sever ties because they didn't get immediate results....wrestling has never been a hit right off the bat, shit takes time and it takes their fans some time to actually find them.
I mean I can't recall how many TNA fans or casuals like me who have said "what's Destination America"?
Sad tale, seeing as the show was looking like it was in an upswing of actual decent booking and I was looking forward to seeing what a guy like Billy Corgan could do.

Destination America is impulsive. If things turn around before the 2016 schedule is established, then I suspect TNA will stick around another year.

After watching TNA for years when they made the jump I saw the first episode and took it off my DVR.
Its sad they're in this state.
1 million viewers on a channel no one has heard of is impossible.
Wikipedia says its in 52 million households? Damn. Its only had its name for less than 3 years.
Wiki also says "targeted mainly towards Middle America and featuring mainly American-centric travel, food, and natural history programming"
Somehow a travel, food, history channel has modern pro wrestling. Seems like they should be doing a behind the scenes travel with wrestlers show and they'll still get whatever they're getting.

TNA are royally fucked! This was the best they could get when Spike gave them the boot and they don't even want it. Where do/can they go from here?

DA was hoping that TNA fans would at least be aware of other programs on the channel and perhaps watch them as well. That did not happen. Worse than that is the ad sales issue. So while the ratings were acceptable, the high cost and low ad sales is not worth it to DA.
Spike was on TNA because it fit in with the other types of programming there. Where does TNA go from here if DA's mind cannot be changed? There were other people TNA was talking to late last year, but they likely did not offer as much money and/or had a smaller national reach. This time though, you have to ask whether anybody wants something that has been axed 2 years in a row?
Funny how this news comes out this week as Dixie was just a guest on Steve Austin's podcast. What is not believable as noted by Meltzer is that Dixie said how it was TNA's decision to leave Spike because there was a better deal in going with DA.
On this past Sunday's LAW, Meltzer hinted at some big news with TNA because usually he has to think about what the top stories will be for the next issue. On Sunday, he mentioned TNA right away. I thought that was odd, and I was sort of surprised that nobody followed up with a question. I guess there were time restraints where they had to go to a commercial break.

Network. Please go to the Network. WWE doesn't even have to say hey we have TNA or even be part of the live broadcast. Just shove them in a corner somewhere and I'll be happy. I don't want to watch it, but I want it to exist. like ROH, never seen it, but I'm happy it exists.
If no one was watching TNA why would they watch the other shows? Seeing commercials for TNA on DA, it seemed like half the network was TNA, like they really pushed hard. All day marathons on Saturday. Random marathons on weekdays. Kinda like what VH1 and E! do.
I can't believe any smaller company is a better deal ever. I see on Shark Tank, you'd rather have 1% of a billion dollar company than 100% of a thousand dollar company.
TNA did send me an email last week saying they were going to Wednesdays.
People need to see it to care and wtf doesn't Dixie have some degree in marketing?

DA was stupid to think TNA would give the network 1 million viewers. Hope TNA goes to ION. More households The main problem is TNA is very damaged goods. If a network where top-rated shows involved hillbillies and Bigfoot didn't want you, you don't exactly have a lot of leverage when talking about having programming, especially when you develop a reputation for not changing anything.

They'll end up airing their show on Instagram. Thousands and thousands of small vids to complete an entire episode.
