Its been 46 days since the 0:30 classic which resulted in the spineless women of the divas division to favourite tweets with the hashtag #GiveDivasAChance. Let it be known it wasn't until AJ's tweets of thunder, a day later, that this #GiveDivasAChance thing picked up. Here are the goods and the bads since Feb 23. Pros-Time Time Time! No more 3 minute matches. -Frequently featured on the commentator table. -Announcers take calling Diva matches more seriously. -Alicia Fox and Charlotte in the TapouT commercials. Cons-Cameron is still employed -Matches go into commercial right after they start. -Despite given time, a divas match has yet to steal the show. -No NXT call-ups -Title wasn't defended at WrestleMania -WM Match was after the washroom break death spot. -Divas on TV mentioning "Give Divas A Chance" which doesn't make sense in the kayfabe universe. -Sudden spotlight has exposed weaknesses. -Divas champion is the queen of rest holds. -AJ Lee is retired?

Yeah, so far the biggest Diva moment of 2015 was Alundra Blayze holding her boobs while retrieving the old Women's Championship from a trash can.

It says a lot when AJ, the spokesperson of this so called movement, has quit the WWE like a bad habit. If you look at the 12 active diva's on the main roster, 2 of them are actually capable workers. This spotlight that has been placed on the division has revealed there are some who are in desperate need of NXT (Naiomi, the Bellas) and some who just need to be let go and open up spots (Cameron, Eva Marie, Rosa Mendes....basically everyone else whose not Paige or Nattie).

This entire "movement" was turned into a joke when the same fans who rallied behind it on social media used a 12 minute Divas match to chant sexual innuendos.
#GiveDivasAChance, but not if we can get ourselves over instead.

Every time I see that hashtag now, it takes me back to John and Wai's recent discussion about how ridiculous it is that women in the WWE are called "divas", a term that can be interpreted as sexist.
It makes the hashtag even funnier in an ironic way considering it was made to help the placement of women in the WWE and to draw attention to how overlooked and improperly utilized they are.

They'll evolve into Superstarlettes™ soon enough.

I think the amount of time in the ring wasn't an issue - it's the storylines and character development for the women on the show. Heel characters are either "crazy" or "bitchy" and face characters are "smiley". Can anyone tell what kind of character is Alicia Fox? How is she different from Cameron? Or Summer Rae?
And none of the girls have any storyline of any real circumstance. The Bellas issue was dropped and forgotten. Paige feuds or alligns with people based on friendship, Emma hasn't had storyline since she was called up. I'm not sure Fox has ever had one besides dumping soda on herself.
Most of the girls on the main roster are ok to bad in the ring and until they bring up NXT talent they should focus on developing characters and creating storylines before giving them 10-15 minutes in front of a dead crowd.

the best in ring women's worked the WWE has under contract, Sara Del Ray, isn't even an active wrestler.
That tells you all you need to know what the WWE things about the diva's division.

Sara Del Ray may not be capable of working, ever think of that?
This while movement was just some overreaction fronted by jaded smarks like Wade Keller to further their anti-WWE agenda.
The movement had no legs under it because it was superficial like Kony2012 and any other hashtag movement involving twitter.

WWE having someone as talented as SDR in a training position to oversee the development of future talent isn't an indictment against them. Quite the opposite, actually.
If SDR was in WWE as a full-time wrestler, she would not be able to commit to being the head trainer for the women in NXT.
I don't blame WWE for seeing how talented she is and figuring that someone in their early 30s has more long-term value to them getting in the ring and physically training developmental talent, some from the ground-up, than being on the main roster.
The women's division in NXT is pretty incredible with very rapid improvements almost all across the board, and I don't think that could have been accomplished without Sara's efforts.
Even the wrestlers who had some prior experience before signing with WWE have improved tenfold since working under her. Pretty sure WWE wanted a woman training the women when they looked to sign her. I can't think of another woman who could have done what Sara did, which is dedicate their life to training in Orlando.

I think you can see the benefits of Sara Del Rey in NXT especially, I believe she's had the most hands on experience with those women and we all know the end results and some of the matches they've produced. I personally love the idea of WWE looking at the indies and hiring people for non-wrestling roles, just look at Jimmy Jacobs becoming a writer, Drake Younger being a ref or Adam Pearce as a guest trainer.
The problem I find with this movement is that outside of Paige & Nattie not many of the divas are actually good workers. Emma is pretty solid but isn't given a chance. Plus Nattie has spent more time wrestling a "bull" over the past couple of months then the other divas. It also doesn't help that you have 2 of the worst ever in the Bellas as your main feature in the division.

They're hot women some of which look like kids. Of course people will give them a chance. No one is watching the women for their match quality. The same can be said about the men really.

What I don't get is they got all these talented wrestlers in SHIMMER and WSU, yet they bring in people with no previous wrestling experience and haven't paid dues.
There's no reason why someone like Cheerleader Melissa, Madison Eagles, and even Portia Perez should not be in the WWE

I think ALL OF US see through the bullshit, but to the common 15 yr old girl diva fan all she needed to see was the bella's get more time. Next months ppv is likely to be Naomi vs Nicki Bella. Their finishing moves are the "Rear View" & "Rack Attack"
As long as shit like this continues and story lines keep being storylines for girls, instead of storylines that would work for both genders, the Divas have not been given their chance.

There's no reason why someone like Cheerleader Melissa, Madison Eagles, and even Portia Perez should not be in the WWE As soon as they get implants or become a set of twins themselves they won't be in WWE. Those three women you said are all objects. Cheerleader, Eagle, Portia. At least Duke Dumpster had a last name. I watched the 30 second classic. Paige and the other girl are just as clueless as Santino pretends to be. In a sport full of men they'll always be second. In a sport full of women men will always be second. Its just a fact. They need their own show to be stars like NXT is a show for the cruiserweights.
