So TNA has already taped Impact past BFG. Why not make BFG just TNA vs. Wrestle1 like a copy of WCW Starrcade 95 where WCW went with WCW vs Japan in a cup tourny. This will save huge money on bringing over only 7 guys and also easy booking. If you were needing to do a best of 5 TNA/Wrestle1 Cup, who is the 6 wrestlers from TNA (4 singles and a tag team) that should be included? Then have a TNA World Title Match to make it a 6 match card

Just read on Observer that some guys have been yanked from the card including the American Wolves. Wolves verses a good Japanese team would have had a ton of potential to be a great match.

I like this idea. I already think TNA will bring very few stars over, but a Company X vs Company Y card is intriguing.
I still think it will be a good show but yeah, it's totally taken a back seat to TNA simply finding a new tv deal.

That's how I figured it would have been when the co-promoted show was first announced.
I guess they could still salvage it and make it a vs showcase, but with The Wolves and Lashley, two of the top acts in TNA, not being on the show, it is a hard sell to promote BFG as some big showdown when a number of top guys won't be there.

Relatively speaking, nobody in the English-speaking part of the world cares about TNA PPV's. Why would anybody who does not speak English care about TNA? Show would be live in Japan, so Wrestle-1 is focusing on trying to get the biggest Japanese audience. In America, BFG will be on a delay, so it is basically a throwaway show like one of those One Night Only PPV's.
Actually, TNA already had a One Night Only PPV with Wrestle-1 earlier this year. Not the whole card of TNA v Wrestle-1, but a few matches. My impression was that show was nothing special.

Problem with Company X vs Company Y scenarios is that neither company usually want to look bad, so either its a compromise of stars where their big heel/face wins their match and the other companies big heel/face wins theirs, I watches TNA Impact this week where they brought in "5 mystery oponents" and really, it was predictable as all hell that for example Tajiri wasn't winning, and neither was Loki so you make the matches predictable and that becomes boring.

Those 2 matches just demonstrates that nobody who watches TNA knows any of the Wrestle-1 talent. Hence, they have to use guys who worked in US promotions over a decade ago. Not that this matters anyway as TNA's goal is just to get BFG over with using as little money as possible.

The show is being booked by Wrestle-1, so I believe they're using TNA talent which the Japanese audience knows of the most. Joe and Low KI have both wrestled extensively in Japan, Low Ki especially. James Storm is an oddity though, so maybe TNA is forcing that on them. The other guys Wrestle-1 would be most interested in would be Team 3-D (Extensive Japanese work) and MVP (same). I could see them be interested in one/both of the Hardyz, but I think Matt's just a per-night deal.

Almost everybody who signs or re-signed with TNA recently is on a per-night deal. Nobody is getting anything long-term until a tv deal is reached. I suspect that includes Bully Ray, Kurt Angle, and Jeff Hardy.

to be fair, if TNA doesn't even care about their "biggest" event of the year, why should we?

Nobody even cares enough to go to the tv tapings. Before, there would be 1000 fans each week at the Impact Zone. Now, TNA would be glad to even get half that. Too bad nobody shows up in Bethlehem. The low cost of taping there would have made the Casino a possible permanent home for Impact if the company ever gets a tv deal.
