NXT > The Main Event
Last week, I had the chance to see The Main Event for the first time. I'm not so impressed with TME. It feels like throw-away programming. It contained 3 new matches, a Brock/Cena SummerSlam promo, and a Stepanie/Brie SummerSlam promo. I'm taking a guess they record TME before SmackDown?
It's the same feeling I used to get when I watched the old NXT version (prior to Full Sail.) It just wasn't interesting to me. We saw the same few people every week and the developmental prospects were hidden away from us in FCW.
In comparison, the Full Sail version of NXT is vastly different. A separate facility with its own atmosphere. A regular crowd seems to frequent and become vocally involved with the matches. The emphasis in Full Sail NXT seems to be wrestling based, as opposed to storyline driven. And not to mention the roster coming up excites me and appears to be the most impressive to date.

NXT feels like a different company altogether. Main event isn't even a main event. It's superstars-esque. Nothing more. Love NXT. Hate event. Spread the word

I'd be open to weekly 2 hour NXT episodes. There are a number of stars that I have yet to see on NXT television, such as Solomon Crowe. He's never appeared on NXT TV. (I read an article where they dropped his hacker gimmick, so I don't know how they're using him now.)
I've not seen Superstars yet either, but I'm guessing it has the same vibe as The Main Event. I would love NBC to resurrect SNME specials during the summer re-runs of SNL. The company relationship already exists because USA Network is part of NBC Universal.

Main Event dwarfs Superstars by virtue of it actually being acknowledged on RAW and Smackdown!, with, at least, 1 promoted bout a week.

I enjoy NXT more than RAW most weeks lately. Those other two shows can bugger off. #WWEHatesCanada

So, aside from PPVs, I guess the programming pecking order is: Raw > SmackDown > NXT > The Main Event > Superstars
I vaguely remember seeing Saturday Morning Slam in the TV listings but never watched it. Is it still on?

Saturday Morning Slam is gone. Mick Foley, who was the GM of the show, reported rumblings of a second season, but CW never bit.

It's 'Main Event'. No 'The'. Sorry but it bugged me!

I agree. NXT is their own A show instead of Main Event which is a C show under RAW and Smackdown.

I cannot readily recall. Has any significant events taken place on Main Event since it started (mid-card or tag title change, perhaps?)
On the other hand, everything that takes place on NXT is of utmost importance. Each performer is desperately putting in their best performances to get noticed and have the opportunity of moving on to the WWE Roster.
You can see and feel their level of dedication. Having watched NXT since their Full Sail debut, I have found myself emotionally invested in each of the stars. I feel very happy when I see one of the NXT stars moves to the main WWE roster and experience success, such as The Shield, Wyatts, etc. On the other hand, I feel bad for those WWE unfortunately chose to release.

Nothing good has ever been on Main Event except for the wrestling. I was shocked how good ADR vs Swagger was the week before ADR was fired. Its just a good place for net nerds to have their good wrestling instead of WWE's typical bullshit.
I'm not emotionally invested in NXT stars since they're all gimmicks. I always forget Sammy Zane and Adrian Nevel are even on the roster.
Both guys are ready in the ring, get them mic time.
Any cruiserweight division like what NXT is will be better than the fed.

I cannot readily recall. Has any significant events taken place on Main Event since it started (mid-card or tag title change, perhaps?) The IC title. Once. Kofi took it from Miz, just before the latter's face-turn in 2012. So, no. Fittingly, given its taping schedule, that Main Event feels like Smackdown!'s 3rd hour, wherein there's matches and feudsare somewhat referenced, but there's nothing of consequence ever really going to happen, outside of dry-running stuff for RAW with guys they're not live-confident in yet.

Ahh, yes. I vaguely remember that IC Title change. Wasn't that when Kofi legitimately kicked Miz in the face with the Trouble in Paradise? (It might be a good idea to revisit Kofi with Miz's current "not-the-face" status.)

Nope, oddly. The saved the one properly memorable moment of that 'Kofi has Miz's number' feud for RAW. Granted, it didn't look as though a terrible amount of planning went into it.
